For many scholars,
By working with Yossi Nagar, an Israeli anthropologist who was able to prove that the physical characteristics of the bones of Jews which date back to the time of Jesus have similarities to the bones of contemporary Iraqi Jews, Taylor concluded that Jesus had honey/olive skin, brown eyes and brown or black hair.
“It was now about noon, and darkness came over the whole land until three, because the sun's light failed,” according to Luke 23:44. The New American Bible even translates this “because of an eclipse of the sun.”
In Revelation 2:18 to Thyatira, Christ describes Himself as "the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like fine brass." Here is another reference back to His initial description in Revelation 1:14-15, but now He adds that He is "the Son of God." Revelation 19:12 gives a similar description of His ...
Jesus is often depicted wearing a red mantle or even an entire red robe. While this is sometimes only a choice of the artist, the use of the color red can also be a matter of religious symbolism. And Jesus dressed in red has become a tradition.
Purple has also been symbolic of the Passion of Christ, the ultimate act of love and sacrifice, as Jesus willingly suffered and died to redeem humanity's sins. According to the Gospel of Mark, when Jesus was brought before the Roman prefect, Pilate, his soldiers placed a purple robe on Jesus as a sign of mockery.
With an aged appearance, Burnished Bronze has a medium-brown tone with a subtle coppery-red shimmer.
Revelation 1 pictures Jesus as One like a Son of Man (1:13) coming on the clouds (1:7; cf. Daniel 7:13 ; Acts 7:56 ). He has hair like white wool, eyes like fiery flame, a face like the shining sun, and feet like glowing bronze (1:14–16; cf. 2:18; 19:12).
What is especially noteworthy is the fact that Jesus holds the "angels" in His right hand. Although their work is challenging, the omnipotent Head of the church protects His servants. The fact that Jesus is holding the stars in His right hand may suggest that they belong to Him and are protected by Him.
John saw someone "like a son of man" in the midst of the seven lampstands. The Son of Man is a messianic term that relates Jesus to Israel, but it also reveals His humanity. He is truly man as well as truly God.
Matthew's Gospel tells us that, at the moment Christ died, darkness swept over the land for three hours (Matthew 27:45).
Aramaic is best known as the language Jesus spoke. It is a Semitic language originating in the middle Euphrates. In 800-600 BC it spread from there to Syria and Mesopotamia.
He also suggested that he would have had short, curly hair and a short cropped beard. Although entirely speculative as the face of Jesus, the result of the study determined that Jesus' skin would have been more olive-colored than white or black, and that he would have looked like a typical Galilean Semite.
Clearly, this is not the case, so by a process of deduction we can conclude that Adam and Eve were heterozygous, each having two dominant and two recessive genes, AaBb. They would thus have been middle-brown in color and from them, in one generation, the various shades of brown would have been produced.
In terms of appearance, rabbis described the Biblical Jews as being "midway between black and white" and having the "color of the boxwood tree".
he was not. he descended from David...a jewish man. Joseph was NOT black.
The Son of Man is portrayed in this vision as having a robe with a golden sash, the hair on his head was white like wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.
Revelation says that the redeemed bear a seal on their foreheads. The seal consists of the names of God and the Lamb and shows that the redeemed belong to God (Revelation 14:1). The seal is presumably not a visible one but a way of indicating that people find their identity in relationship to God and Christ.
Revelation 2:12–17 is a message from Jesus to the church at Pergamum. Jesus commends the church for keeping the faith despite intense persecution and the pervading worship of Satan around them.
For many scholars, Revelation 1:14-15 offers a clue that Jesus's skin was a darker hue and that his hair was woolly in texture. The hairs of his head, it says, "were white as white wool, white as snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined as in a furnace.”
There are 24 distinct descriptions in Revelation 1, 18 descriptions in Revelation 2-3, totaling 42. Since 12 are repeated there are 30 unique descriptions of Jesus in these first three chapters of Revelation. There are 90 descriptions of Jesus in the entire book of Revelation.

13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. 14 “Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.
Jesus' feet, like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, are indicative of the fact that He is the suffering servant. Bronze represents suffering and sacrifice in Scripture, especially the Old Testament. He is the one “like a son of the gods” who stand with His people in persecution.
One of the meanings of bronze in the Bible is “something that has been judged.” In Exodus 27:1 we see that the altar upon which the sin offering was to be sacrificed was made of bronze, signifying that our sin has been judged. The serpent in our story was made of bronze (Numbers 21:9).
Burnishing is a colored pencil technique that's used to create an opaque look similar to oils, acrylics or airbrush. To achieve this opacity, you start with the darkest value, then lightly layer wax- or oil-based colored pencils on top of it until you arrive at the lightest value.
