If you have a lot of knots then start with a wide-toothed comb; this will remove bigger knots, then move onto using a smaller comb. Start at the ends and work your way up using gentle strokes to detangle knots. Starting at the roots and pulling downwards could make tangles worse.
Spray the knot and the surrounding hair generously with detangler and give it a few minutes to penetrate. Next, finger-comb the knot a few times to release any loose hair. Then, using a wide-tooth comb, comb from the bottom of the knot to the end of your hair.
Wet your hair and put conditioner, wait 5 minutes. Then fill up the tub with warm soapy water and soak in it for a few minutes. Head back just float and relax. Then start manipulating the tangles, have them under the water while doing this. The tangles should gently fall out, slowly and gently untangle them.
Add a generous amount of a leave-in conditioner or your favorite Verb conditioner directly to the knot. Let it sit for a minute to add moisture and slip. Use your fingers to gently pull the knot apart. Start at the ends of the hair and work your way toward the root.
Covered it in oil (any hair oil or even baby oil) and comb it gently and patiently with a wide toothed comb starting at the ends and slowly working your way up.
Gently massage a light coating of olive or food-grade mineral oil on and around the contact area. Gently separate the glue surface from skin or fur. Clean with soap and water.
As I comb her hair, if I get stuck on a knot, I spray this right on to the knot and I am able to detangle it immediately. She does have fine, curly hair, so I am not sure how well this will work for thicker, curly hair. You might need to add more apple cider vinegar to the recipe and more lavender.
"Knot No More" is a universally effective hair detangler designed for both adults and children.
Working through larger knots when curls are dry is safer because when hair is wet, hair swells and the cuticle becomes more fragile, much easier to break. Hair is more likely to have their bonds intact when it's dry, but it can take time and patience to ensure you detangle gently and safely.
Gently rest your nondominant hand on your cat, holding the skin down. Slip the teeth of the comb or brush under the mat, and gently detangle the hair. Some cat owners like to sprinkle a bit of cornstarch on the tangle, but don't overdo it. Pet hair conditioner or pet detangling spray may help.
Dove Intensive Repair Conditioner For Damaged Hair and Dove 7-in1 Miracle Mist are great options. Apply to the matted section when your hair is dry, dousing the hair until it is fully saturated. This will give your strands some slip and make it easier to start unraveling the matting.
Use a detangling spray like Air Dry Butter Cream Leave-In Treatment for extra slip. Drying: Gently pat dry with a microfiber towel. Brushing: Use a wet brush for wet hair, a wide-tooth comb for dry. Pre-Shampoo Detangling: Detangle before you hop in the shower by using Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Detangler.
Moisture can make detangling easier. It helps remove the tangles without harsh pulling. Use a spray bottle filled with water to spritz some water on your hair before starting out. Take sections of hair with your fingers, comb with a wide-toothed brush and clip the detangled hair with a secure hair clip or pin.
Combine 2 tablespoons of olive oil, 2 tablespoons of melted coconut oil, and 1/4 cup of warm water in a small spray bottle. Shake the bottle to ensure the ingredients are well-mixed. Spray all over hair and massage in. After running your fingers through your hair, comb out any remaining knots.
With wet or lightly dampened hair (a spray bottle to spritz on some moisture works great!), massage in moisturizing or detangling-specific conditioner. You can also use detangling spray or oil (coconut, jojoba, argan, or a similar oil) instead, to help hydrate and loosen your hair.
Apple cider vinegar might dry out your hair. The risk would be higher if you leave it in your hair without washing it out or if you use a large amount without also using other, more pH-balanced (acid/base balanced), water-based products.
Coat your hair in conditioner and comb your hair starting from the bottom. Again, ensure that your entire head is covered to make getting the knots out easier. Take your time and make sure to comb all of the knots out. You can section up your hair to be sure that all the knots are gone.
The main component of the Mouse Glue Trap is polybutadiene (Polybutadiene) or polybutadiene/styrene (Polybutadiene-Styrene) mixture. It can be removed with alcohol or Cleaning Naphtha.
Usage: Another old wives' tale suggests scattering human hair or dog hair around your RV to deter rodents, based on the idea that the scent of humans or predators will keep them away. Reality: There is no scientific basis for this method.
