It is waterproof, so go ahead and shower as usual - however, please don't tempt fate with a bath or soaking. Its normal for your saniderm to fill with plasma, ink and blood. It typically creates a dark brown liquid that sits on your tattoo under the plastic.
Usually the tattoo will exude plasma, basically will look like a blob underneathe as the skin heals. Completely normal, will go back to it's normal shade once you take it off and give it a clean.
Keep in mind that the tattoo may appear to be fully healed on the surface once you remove the last Saniderm bandage after 5 days. However, deeper layers of the skin will still be fully healing for up to 6 months.
When our body is healing, it can release certain things to help protect us - in the case of tattoos, it'll be a version of plasma. That's why your tattoo got blurry underneath the saniderm. The plasma is completely sterile and considered helpful for healing tattoos as it can help prevent a scab from forming.
This helps to prevent the adhesive from sticking directly to the fresh tattoo until the tattoo begins to peel. Once this stage occurs, the peeling skin will cling to the film itself. There is no need to worry about Saniderm negatively affecting your ink at all.
If you develop a rash, skin irritation, or other signs of an allergic reaction, immediately remove your Saniderm and wash the area with mild soap, then immediately discontinue the use.
ACCELERATE THE TATTOO HEALING PROCESS – Saniderm tattoo care bandages help prevent scabbing, which means accelerated tattoo healing and less irritation. Less scabbing also means the risk of damaging your tattoo is greatly reduced.
* You cannot leave saniderm on your tattoo, if it is leaking. If bacteria can get out of your bandage, it can get in - leaving you susceptible to infection.
After 3-5 days, remove Saniderm while in the shower. You must peel the Saniderm in order for it to come off, you may want to peel slowly. * You can shower with Saniderm on * Step 2: Wash tattoo with lukewarm water and non-scented antibacterial soap, using only your hands, do not use any scrubbers or washcloths.
When the adhesion of the Saniderm bandage begins to weaken, that's your cue to remove or replace the bandage. If you notice excessive weeping or fluid under your currently applied piece of Saniderm, it's okay to carefully replace it with a new one.

It's normal to experience a buildup of fluid beneath the Saniderm. This fluid is primarily comprised of plasma and ink, and may be thick and dark in color; this is normal, and not a cause for concern. If you experience redness and itchiness around the edges of the Saniderm, peel it back and trim off the excess.
Alternatively, if the fluid that collected beneath your Saniderm has dried out or has become itchy or uncomfortable, it is perfectly okay to remove the bandage and begin washing/caring for your tattoo -- even if this happens before the 3-5 day mark!
In fact, reports suggest that the colors of tattoos remain more vibrant after using Saniderm, compared to tattoos that have healed by other aftercare products. This piece of Saniderm is best to be left on your new tattoo for 8 to 48 hours minimally.
If given one piece of Saniderm:
Your tattoo may look muddy or hazy underneath. Excessive fluid will affect the adhesion of Saniderm. After 3-4 days, remove Saniderm under warm running water, such as a shower.
Wash your hands and remove the original saniderm slowly, THOROUGHLY CLEAN THE TATTOO WITH ANTIBACTERIAL, FRAGRANCE FREE SOAP. (This step is crucial as any bacteria left on the tattoo will be trapped underneath the new application of saniderm, possibly causing infection.)
Once your tattoo is dry, the skin around the area will begin to feel tight. This happens as your tattoo dries out, and it's a good indicator that it's time to apply moisturizer. Once again, we use and recommend Sanibalm for this. Rub it in gently until it's absorbed by the skin — be sure to apply a very thin layer.
WHILE THE USE OF AQUAPHOR ISN'T NECESSARY DURING THE SANIDERM HEALING PROCESS, WE ADVISE THAT YOU FOLLOW THIS PROCESS BY TREATING YOUR TATTOO WITH FRAGRANCE FREE LOTION.
During this time there will be a buildup of fluid (plasma, ink, blood) underneath the bandage. This is normal and should remain contained within the Saniderm. Though your tattoo may look blurry, remember that it's just the fluid. Your tattoo is fine.
Saniderm is both latex free and hypoallergenic, so allergic reactions are very rare. However, some people may have sensitive skin or allergies to adhesives. If you do experience a rash, abnormal skin irritation, or other symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue use and wash with mild soap.
