Cetaphil face wash, unscented baby wash, or unscented bar soap (new) are some recommendations. You will be given a small pot of Aquaphor at your appointment. You will be required wash your brows and apply ointment twice a day for the next 10-14 days. DO NOT allow your scab to become soft.
I have my clients wash their brows with cetaphil or another gentle fragrance free cleanser twice a day (more often if you do something that would cause them to get dirty, mowing the lawn or something idk), again be VERY gentle.
Hi there! Treat microblading like any other wound :) you have to wash them gently with cetaphil or baby shampoo twice a day to prevent scabbing. Scabbing will pull the pigment from the cuts and not give you the results you want. So when you wash your brows, just cup some water in your hands and gently get them wet.
Do NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants. Do NOT allow your brows to get wet outside of gently washing them twice a day. Moisturize Microbladed Area. Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment with a cotton swab and spread it across the treated area.
Face washes, serums, sprays, exfoliants, moisturizers, etc. SHOULD NOT BE APPLIED UNTIL 14 DAYS AFTER MICROBLADING. Products that are exfoliating or have exfoliating acids or promote cell turnover will cause your microblading to fade.
Because microblading pigments don't spread as easily, they need to be applied very precisely to ensure they last. Sun exposure: UV rays can cause the pigment to fade more quickly. Retinols, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, vitamin C serums, and other acids can be detrimental to the pigment's integrity.
Use shower eyeshield:
Different shower visors are available in the market that are specifically used to protect areas around the brows after microblading. Furthermore, there is also the option of sun visor hats. Before trying any of these tools, make sure they are tight-fitted and can protect your eyebrows from water.
We recommend using the blade on clean, dry skin for best results.
The worst days after microblading are typically the first two, when you'll likely experience puffiness, redness, and tenderness.
Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Alternatively, you can use a different healing ointment like Aquaphor. It's important to make sure there are no added antibiotics or harsh ingredients that can break down pigment in your brows.
Around days eight or nine of the healing process, your brows may take on a spooky appearance, appearing faded, gray, or even patchy. This is known as the microblading ghosting phase. The fading is a regular and temporary part of the healing process. Your bold, beautiful brows will make their triumphant return.
At the start and end of each day, use your clean fingertips and a mild antibacterial soap, like Cetaphil, to gently cleanse your eyebrows for 10-15 seconds. Avoid using any cleansing products that contain exfoliants or acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA).
Over the counter Cetaphil may be used following eyebrow microblading w/a clean Q-Tip, once a day for 6 – 7 days following procedure. No Tretinoin or Hydroquinone. Do not rub or pick at the epithelial crust; allow it to flake off on its own. There should be absolutely no scrubbing, cleansing creams, or chemicals.
Proper aftercare is essential for successful microblading results. Most professionals advise avoiding washing your face for 2-10 days post-treatment, with care needed when cleaning around the brows. On Day 1, blot lymph fluid gently to prevent crusting, and use mild antibacterial soap from Day 2-10 for cleaning.
While your medical esthetician will help you determine how often you should undergo treatment, you should at least wait three or four weeks in between sessions.

Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 7 days after your procedure. Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrow without getting water on the treated area. During the shower, keep your face away from the shower head or take a bath.
Avoid getting the area wet for the first 24 hours after microblading. Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment, such as Aquaphor, to keep the area moisturized.
Water exposure, especially during the critical healing phase, can affect the pigmentation and final outcome of your brows. While brief or accidental contact with water may not cause significant harm, prolonged exposure can lead to fading, uneven results, and the need for additional touch-ups.
Wait for Fading: Microblading is semi-permanent and will fade over time. If you are unhappy with the shape, it may be worth waiting for the brows to lighten naturally. Correction or Removal: A corrective procedure may sometimes be possible during the touch-up session.
