A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift or forehead rejuvenation, is a cosmetic procedure to raise the brows. A brow lift improves the appearance of the forehead, the brow and the area around the eyes by raising the soft tissue and skin of the forehead and brow.
For most patients, it is expected that the results should last 10-12 years, although we have not been performing the procedure for quite this long, so the actual track record is yet to be established.
The difference lies in the goals of the procedure. A brow lift acts to raise the position of the brow to give a less tired appearance and sometimes improves sagging eyelids. The primary goal of a forehead lift is to smooth the forehead, though eyebrow position may not change dramatically.
Happily, most of our patients experience very little pain from a brow lift (browplasty) — sometimes also known as a “forehead lift”. The initial recovery period is from 10-14 days depending on your age and/or health factors. Most patients go back to work within 2 weeks of surgery.
Most forehead lifts are performed under local anesthesia, combined with a sedative to make you drowsy. You'll be awake but relaxed, and although you may feel some tugging and mild discomfort, your forehead will be insensitive to pain.
A brow lift does not aim to change your eye shape. However, manipulating your brow may change your eye appearance. For example, a brow lift performed to address the brows' outside corners will lift the underlying tissue and skin, which may make it look like the eye shape changes.
You can expect an improvement in the brightness of your face, helping you look and feel like we've turned back the clock. For the cost of a single procedure, these are just a few of the physical results: Reduces lines of aging in the forehead and brow areas, softening and relaxing your overall appearance.
How Will I Look and Feel? After endoscopic brow lift, you can expect your forehead and brows to look mildly swollen and bruised. The bruising may extend over your upper eyelids and possibly over your lower eyelids, too. Swelling should peak a day or two after the procedure and then gradually subside.
A brow lift is a common but major surgery that has risks and potential complications. You may have less invasive treatment options, such as Botox injections.

Some examples of how a brow lift can change your appearance include: Creating an overall appearance that is more youthful by raising the eyebrows. Creates an appearance of wider, more open eyes so it no longer covers or droops at the eyelids.
The average cost of a brow lift is $3,900, according to 2020 statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. This average cost is only part of the total price – it does not include anesthesia, operating room facilities or other related expenses.
It's recommended you have a forehead lift if you are troubled by any of the following signs of aging: Unattractive wrinkle lines on the forehead that make you look older. Vertical frown lines between the brows that make you look angry (when you aren't) Relaxed skin that causes the eyebrows to sag.

Botox is a nonsurgical procedure. It's different from a traditional brow lift, which is a type of cosmetic surgery that involves incisions and removal of your skin.
A brow lift can cause temporary or permanent numbness on the forehead or top of the scalp. Asymmetry in the position of the brows. A brow lift can result in asymmetry, with one or both of the eyebrows appearing too high.
Brow lift surgery is used to reduce the appearance of a heavy, sagging brow. The procedure can help patients correct hooded eyes, as well as treat deep furrows. An eyelid lift may be recommended to remove bags from beneath the lower eyelids and excess skin from the upper eyelids.
To be perfectly clear, no cosmetic treatment for age-related concerns is entirely permanent, but they can last for a long time. For surgical brow lifts, you can expect to enjoy the results of your procedure for 10 to 12 years on average.
Hair Loss. Because the incisions made during a brow lift are along the hairline, it is possible that you may experience some hair loss after the procedure. This is typically temporary and once the incisions have completely healed, the hair will start to grow back within a few months.
Mini-brow lift is a less-invasive surgical procedure that can help many individuals achieve a rejuvenated facial aesthetic. This precise procedure is completed using a tiny incision concealed within the hairline through which forehead muscles are surgically released.
The procedure generally takes between 1-2 hours, however, may take longer if undergoing other procedures, such as blepharoplasty, at the same time. Direct brow lift surgery involves incisions over the brow. The sutures are removed after one week and the scar usually settles extremely well.
Bruising and swelling: The most visibly noticeable side effects of brow lift surgery are bruising and swelling. Even though a brow lift alters the skin and muscles at and above the brow line, bruising and swelling may extend down to the cheeks.
The swelling will go down enough within the first two weeks for you to feel comfortable in public. It may take several weeks for all of the swelling to go away.
Once the majority of the swelling subsides, which usually happens in about two weeks, patients should begin to be able to make more normal facial expressions, including raising the eyebrows, even though they still feel numb.
Endoscopic brow lift
Then, using a miniature camera and very thin instruments, he repositions the muscles and lifts the underlying forehead tissue, removing excess tissue as required. The result is a natural-looking, youthful brow.
Approximately 3 months after surgery, the scar is no longer red, but it is still visible as a linear depression in the skin (Figure 1D). The scars are barely visible 1 year after surgery (Figure 1E).
