The days and weeks after your you get your brows done is the worst time to assess whether or not you like them as they will appear “thick” and “dark” after your initial microblading service. The thickness and darkness of your new brows will begin to fade, even before your Touch-Up / Perfecting session.
Don't worry, though – microblading as a semi-permanent treatment is fixable. There are many options to fixing mistakes both to the shape of your new brow or even the colour. Many beauty shoppers will do their research first, and it's not too hard to find stories about botched eyebrows.
There are 3 relatively effective options for straight-up removal of microblading pigments: laser removal, saline removal, and glycolic acid removal. If fading is too much hassle for you or it simply didn't give the expected results, you might want to look into microblading removal.
Microblading, which is completely safe with a qualified artist, is meant to be semi-permanent. This means it is a semi-permanent tattoo that is intended to fade with time. With no touch-ups, microblading should fade completely within two years after the initial service.
As mentioned above, microblading can last anywhere from 18 to 30 months. In general, it requires touch-ups once or twice a year. Once pigment from the procedure begins to noticeably fade, you'll need to go back to your practitioner for a touch-up application.

Healing will take up to 1-2 weeks, and it is perfectly normal for your treated eyebrows to scab. The scabs will fall off within a few days. It is normal for the color to appear darker and reddish in the first 5-6 days, and then to fade during the two weeks following the treatment.
Your brow shape is fine and pigments didn't migrate out of the initial outline, but the color of microblading after 5 years has turned either reddish/orangey or gray/bluish. If your brows are not too saturated, this can be fixed with a microblading color correction.
Appearance Is Faded but Still Looks Great
The decrease in thickness of your eyebrows will be noticeable ONLY if you'll compare your photos today vs. when your microbladed eyebrows are only weeks or months old. 3 years after microblading, they'll look more natural with time until they fade.
After your initial microblading session, your skin should heal in 25 to 30 days. It'll likely feel tender and painful at first, but this will go away over time. Your brows will also darken and lighten before revealing their final color. It's normal for your skin to flake and peel as healing takes place.
Getting the brow is too wet after microblading, or using the wrong ointment and even getting too much sun are all possible reasons for fading.
1. Microblading eyebrows lasts 1 to 2 years. Eyebrow tattoos last forever. Regular eyebrow tattoos last a lifetime, but with microblading, ink is not placed as deep underneath the skin.
Micropigmentation delivers pigment deeper into the skin compared to microblading. The results of micropigmentation last twice as long as microblading. So, while it is still a semi-permanent technique, the results last much longer.

Microblading isn't permanent. The pigment is inserted into the upper layers of the skin. Microblading will most likely feel different and hurt less than a traditional tattoo because of the numbing cream (anesthetic) applied prior to the procedure, and because there are fewer needles involved.
You know if your artist went the right depth because you will hear a characteristic "tearing" sound in the skin. There will also be SOME pain (but not a lot). If this happens to you, you will know it because the pigment will come out as your scabs start to come off and all of the pigment will be gone within 2 weeks.
Because your skin needs to be as clean as possible during the microblading healing process, you should completely avoid wearing any makeup, moisturizers, or makeup primers around the area treated by microblading.
However, the average healing time is four weeks. It is common to experience the “ghosting stage”. This is when a layer of skin grows over your “tattoo” and your brows seem to be completely faded. This usually lasts a week or so until your skin regenerates and the pigment reappears.
Microblading creates a more natural end result compared to eyebrow tattooing, which results in brows that appear “drawn on” and flat. This is because the microblading technique creates individual hair-like strokes that are identical to hair growth pattern of the surrounding eyebrow hair.
EYEBROW AFTERCARE
Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 7 days after your procedure. Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrow without getting water on the treated area. During the shower, keep your face away from the shower head or take a bath.
Microblading could cause: Infection. If your technician uses dirty water or equipment, they can spread bacteria like staphylococcus (staph). They could also spread viruses like HIV, hepatitis, or herpes.
Microblading cuts will eventually leave you nothing but scars! Microblading is called semi-permanent because the implanted pigment does not last forever. The scars, however, are there for life. Even in the hands of the best-trained surgeons in the world – any blade (even a scalpel) leaves a scar.
