Botox injections are commonly injected into three main sites – forehead lines, crow's feet lines around the eyes and the vertical '11' frown lines between the eyebrows.
You can get multiple Botox injections during your visit. So, if you were looking to get all three areas done you would need a total of 64 units. This may be less depending on the severity of the area of treatment.
The uses of full face botox treatments extend beyond the traditional three areas – the forehead, glabella and crows feet. It includes additional regions including the “bunny lines” to the upper nose, smokers lines above the top lip, smiles lines to the lower cheek and dimpling to the front of the chin.
Do not inject laterally down the nasal sidewalls. Injection points should remain in the orbicularis oculi for crow's feet injections; be careful not to massage lower injection point in case of diffusion into the zygomaticus. FIGURE 1. (a).
Getting Botox under the eyes is sometimes referred to as getting “jelly roll” Botox. The “jelly roll” refers to a slight bulge of muscle that appears under the eyes in some people when they squint or smile. Botox works by relaxing this muscle, thus producing a smoother skin surface and no bulge.
Go to a licensed medical professional
The person administering your filler or botox injection should be a licensed doctor, registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician's assistant, with the latter two being supervised by doctors.
Between 10 to 50 Units of botox
A forehead botox injection can require between 10 to 50 units needed in the forehead depending on the severity of your wrinkles. Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox suggests the amount of units that's recommended in the “five” sites of the forehead is 4 units.
Dermal fillers fill the contour area of your eye and replace volume, but Botox under the eyes stops the muscle from moving and therefore prevents it from producing wrinkling. You can use both methods, but never use one to replace the other.
Usually, an average Botox treatment is in the range of 40-50 units, meaning the average cost for a botox treatment is between $400 and $600. Forehead injections (20 units) and eyebrow lines (up to 40 units), for example, would be approximately $600 for the full treatment.
Right above the eyebrows and in between the eyes is called the frown lines. According to the recommendations, this requires 20 units. And finally, for the lines further up the forehead, which we just refer to as forehead lines, it takes 20 units of Botox.
The average price is about $20 per unit, and a single treatment might use anywhere from 20 to 60 units per area. Expect to pay about $500 to $800 per session on average. That said, if you use our site, you could find deals on Botox near you for as low as $7 per unit, and between $120 to $600 per session.
You can expect results to last around 4 months, but don't be surprised if you notice a long term decrease in wrinkles. The relaxation of those muscles allows them to weaken and resist movement even between treatments. If you're looking to lift the brow area, Botox can help without going under the knife.
1) Under-Eye Area
Results from these procedures suggest about 8 Botox units will be enough to reduce the appearance of under-eye wrinkles and even bagginess.
The only person you never need to tip is a doctor, even for aesthetic treatments like Botox (another reason to only get injections from a dermatologist or plastic surgeon). At the end of the day, all of these stylists, aestheticians, and technicians live off their tips, so be sure to help them after they've helped you.
You should NEVER leave a tip for your PA/NP or nurse injector. Injectables are medications, just like a blood pressure pill or a thyroid medication. You would not tip your primary care provider for doing an EKG on you so no need to tip on our medical services either.
The amount of Botox needed to improve crow's feet depends on each individual. An optimal dose should last 3 to 4 months. Two units per side is a very low dose and typically would last about 2 to 3 months. You will need to wait and see what dosage will work for you and give longevity.
A good injector should know where to never inject.
A qualified, experienced injector should never inject the area near the orbital bone right above the pupil. If Botox is injected here, it can drift down toward the upper eyelid and cause an eyelid droop. This can last from weeks to even months.
The aim of getting Botox in your 20s is to prevent wrinkles happening in your early 30s. Botox in your 20s is best used as preventative measure to avoid the fine lines and wrinkles occurring and becoming a more permanent fixture when our facial expressions are resting.
If you want to prevent the earliest fine lines from becoming full-blown wrinkles, preventative Botox can be the solution. Botox is approved for patients who are 18 years and older and most experts agree that patients in their mid to late 20s and early 30s are at a good age for preventative Botox treatment.
