When injected into muscles, Botox blocks the release of acetylcholine and inhibits muscle contraction. Limiting this movement not only relaxes facial wrinkles and lines, but it can also lift the corners of the mouth.

On average 25 units of Botox will give your skin by your glabellar a full correction and will remove the 11 lines. The '11 lines' are the glabellar lines in between your eyes and eyebrows.

According to Allergan's guidelines, the following units should be given: Crow's Feet – 10 to 12 Botox Units per eye (2 eyes would mean 20 to 24 units) Frown Lines – 20 Botox Units. Forehead lines – 20 Botox Units.
Botox is measured in “units.” There are 100 units in one syringe of Botox.
The amount of Botox needed to improve crow's feet depends on each individual. An optimal dose should last 3 to 4 months. Two units per side is a very low dose and typically would last about 2 to 3 months. You will need to wait and see what dosage will work for you and give longevity.
It sounds like the muscle has been knocked out with the dose you received. It will take many weeks or even months for the crease to smooth out and it is important to keep up with the Botox to keep those muscles knocked out or they will once again work on the overlying skin to reform the wrinkles.
The only person you never need to tip is a doctor, even for aesthetic treatments like Botox (another reason to only get injections from a dermatologist or plastic surgeon). And the depressor labii inferioris (DLI) muscle pulls down your lower lip, and you have one of these muscles on each side. When Botox spreads to any of these muscles, it will relax them. Usually this only happens on one side. This makes your smile on that side look different.
The best way to often treat drooping corners of the mouth is to consider replacing, very subtly, volume in the cheeks with dermal fillers to 'lift' the jawline up. Botox® can be placed into the muscle that acts to pull the corners of the mouth down. This is generally done in combination with filler for optimal results, but can be done alone. This not only helps to raise the corners of the mouth, but also works to make filler last longer in this area.
The best filler for the corners of the mouth really depends on your mouth and your skin. If you have thin skin, a thinner filler, such as Restylane, Restylane Silk or Volbella work best. These fillers provide lift using just a very thin fine amount and they can also fill some of the little edged lines.
Botulinum Toxin can be used around the mouth to diminish wrinkling and make that area look more youthful. Most people come in because their mouth and perioral area looks aged due to thinning lips and/or for women the appearance of vertical radial lines around the mouth.
During a lip flip procedure, your healthcare provider injects Botox into parts of your upper lip. After about a week, the injections make your lip look fuller or “poutier” without adding any volume to your lip. Lip flips generally look more natural than lip fillers.
There is nothing harmful about stopping Botox. Nor are there any dangerous or negative side effects. Your muscles will simply not be as relaxed. You will have total mobility of the treated area, regardless of how long you received Botox injections.
When someone is receiving too much treatment with anti-wrinkle injections, the skin can become extremely smooth and the light bounces off in a uniform way. So, the skin appears shiny, which is why it can look 'frozen'.
There's a common misconception that Botox makes you look older when it wears off. On the contrary, regular Botox treatments make you look younger even after the neurotoxin wears off.
50 units of Botox would be excessive to fully treat forehead rhytids (horizontal forehead lines), but it may be appropriate to treat both the glabella and forehead. A typical dosage for the forehead is 20 units. 50 units would be more appropriate as a Dysport dosage.
Another concern that most patients have is not seeing results within the same timeframe as their first treatments. In general, this is not a cause for concern as the Botox may simply need more time to take effect the second time around. Doctors recommend waiting between 10 and 14 days.
Cost varies, as some clinics choose to charge per unit and others per area. The average price is about $20 per unit, and a single treatment might use anywhere from 20 to 60 units per area. Expect to pay about $500 to $800 per session on average.
