Leave the serum in - do not rinse it out. It is designed to be absorbed into the scalp overnight or for 8+ hours.
James recommends using a shampoo that lathers well, like a sulfate shampoo, as the lather will help wash the serum out of your hair. It's important to rub the shampoo between your hands for several seconds so it emulsifies before massaging it into every square inch of your scalp.
The first thing to remember is hair serum is a lot like perfume - a little bit goes a long way. You can always apply more, but you won't be able to remove excess serum without washing your hair.
It is recommended to wait at least 15 minutes before washing off serum from your face.
Cornstarch: Mix cornstarch with cocoa powder (for dark hair) to create a DIY dry shampoo. Apply this mixture to your roots and brush it out to remove excess oil. Rice Water: Rich in amino acids and vitamins, rice water acts as a detox for your hair.
Lemon Juice – Found in every person's kitchen, it's a quick and easy oily hair remedy. Its acidic nature works wonders on greasy hair and washes away the oil build-up, while balancing out the pH levels of your scalp. Dilute it with water, apply it to your head, and rinse thoroughly after about 15 minutes.
Washing off serum immediately is generally not recommended since it contains concentrated active ingredients. These ingredients address skincare concerns such as hydration, anti-aging, and brightening. Their effectiveness depends on being absorbed into the skin.
Absolutely! Every hair type, whether straight, wavy, or curly, can benefit from a hair serum. It acts as an armour against daily stressors, making it a must-have hair serum for daily use. From imparting shine to straight hair to defining curls, its benefits are manifold.
Whenever possible, it's best to apply the serum to damp hair before the rest of your styling products to lock in the benefits but some serums are more than okay to use on dry hair. It's also okay to use a serum throughout the day to touch up the hair, but the initial application should be on clean hair.
Greasiness: Too much serum, or putting it too close to the roots, can make hair greasy. Weighing Down Hair: Heavier serums might weigh down fine or thin hair. This makes it look flat instead of giving volume or lift. Allergic Reactions: Some users might be allergic to ingredients in a hair serum.
Apply on Damp Hair: Apply hair serum on damp hair after hair wash. You can use a gentle shampoo like TRESemme Keratin Smooth and Shine or the type of TRESemme shampoo that suits your hair needs and texture. Following a nourishing conditioner and hair mask once a week. Rinse and dry your hair using a microfiber towel.
Do not apply serum to your scalp as it can make your hair look oily and greasy. In fact, we would recommend you to totally forget the roots to avoid any product buildup. Remember, your ends need the most shine, so dab it in!
Physically Exfoliate the Scalp
Using a scalp brush when shampooing will allow you to gently physically exfoliate the buildup away from the scalp so that the shampoo can then wash it out of your hair.
Rinsing with Water:
Once the bottle is emptied, rinse it thoroughly with warm water. This initial rinse helps remove any remaining product residue. Shake the bottle with water inside, or use a bottle brush to lightly scrub the interior, then pour out the water.
Serums need time to absorb into your skin so washing them off straight away is counterproductive. Let the product melt into your skin for about 90 seconds before finishing your routine with moisturiser – locking everything in place.
It's not greasy, just avoid applying water soon
After trying this product I must say, it's not greasy at all, it's very light and didn't cause any irritation in my scalp. It does have a nice subtle scent that gives me a relaxing vibe. I have a few hair and it tents to get greasy and I wash it after other day.
HOW DO I APPLY IT? Take a small raspberry-sized amount of the Salicylic Acid Cleanser and gently massage onto dampened face and neck for at least 60 seconds, then rinse thoroughly.
Generally, it is recommended to use a serum after cleansing your skin in the shower. This allows the serum to penetrate deeper into the skin and work more effectively. However, some lightweight serums can also be used before showering as a pre-treatment to lock in hydration and nourishment.
The serum is water-based and non-greasy. So you can apply it every day without worrying about greasy hair.
It typically depends on whether it's oil- or gel-based, but most serums start absorbing immediately. Some skincare formulas can take up to 30 minutes to fully absorb — but that doesn't mean you have to wait that long between skincare steps. Most skincare products are designed to begin absorbing right away.
Wash Your Hair Regularly (but Not Too Frequently)
Regular washing removes excess oil, sweat, and dead skin cells from your scalp, but washing too often can strip your scalp of its natural oils, causing it to produce even more oil to compensate. The frequency of washing should be tailored to your hair type.
