There isn't anything out there that's going to shrink pores instantly, but you can cleanse your pores to remove any dirt that can be making them more noticeable. You can cover your face with makeup to get a temporary impact, but oftentimes this will only clog your pores even more.
Can you reduce pore size? As your pore size is mostly a result of your genetics, you can't permanently shrink them. However, you can minimize their appearance by keeping them clear of oil and debris and boosting your skin's collagen and elastin. These steps also prevent pores from growing larger.
Hormones play a role in stimulating these glands in order to produce more abundant quantities of sebum. That's why the pores on your face, most specifically those on your nose, forehead, and cheeks, may appear larger than they do on other areas of your body.
As you grow older, your skin loses it elasticity, which causes your skin to stretch and sag, making pores appear larger. Your skin also thickens as you age, which causes miniscule skin cells to gather around your pores, making pores look bigger.
It tightens pores
Those who have oily skin and large pores can benefit from apple cider vinegar. The substance contains alpha-hydroxy acids (organic acids that improve cell turnover and reduce the appearance of wrinkles), which can shrink and tighten pores.
During the normal skin cell turnover process, your topmost layer of skin sluffs off every 30-40 days or so. As you age, this process takes longer, up to 50 or 60 days. Retinoids like retinol speed up the process, bringing your skin turnover back to 20-30 days as in your youth.
Retinol promotes skin cell turnover and unclogs pores.
Studies show that applying retinol cream reduces pore size and keeps them cleaner, emptying the impurities that otherwise give an oversized appearance. Retinol is most effective when used as night cream.
Witch hazel acts as an astringent to help shrink your pores, soothe your skin and reduce inflammation.
Vaseline itself won't shrink your pores or treat wrinkles, but keeping your skin moisturized is an essential preventative measure to slow the signs of aging on your skin.
Look for Acids
Glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and lactic acid — in cleansers, lotions, or chemical peels — can all minimize the appearance of pores over time.
Laser Treatments
Several treatments are available at Dermatology and Laser Centre. Fractional ablative laser skin resurfacing decreases the appearance of pores and acne scars. For enlarged pores, Dr. Gallacher uses the Vbeam laser as well as fractionated CO2 lasers.
Skincare products can make your pores look smaller by exfoliating the skin—or cleaning out dead skin cells and oil from the pore. Pores that are cleared of blackheads and blockages will look less obvious. The surface of the skin will also look brighter, smoother, and more even.

Rose water as an astringent
Astringents are commonly used to cleanse skin, dry out oil, and tighten pores. Rose water, which is rich in tannins, can have a tightening effect on skin. It's also not as drying for the skin as other alcohol-based astringents.
Aloe vera is great for a lot of things, but it also helps tighten pores. Apply some aloe vera gel on your face and massage it for a few minutes. Let it sit for around 10 minutes and rinse with cool water. You can apply this everyday and see results soon after starting.
The good news is, hyaluronic fillers exist and they can help your skin look smoother and your pores visibly smaller. A recent study done by Capital Medical University's Wei Qian and his team of researchers found that hyaluronic acid can minimize large pores.
Cold water or even cold air both contract the pores on your face, making them appear smaller. You can also constrict the pores on your face by using products with a mildly acidic pH (around 5.5).
Alpha hydroxy acids like glycolic acid and lactic acid can have a retexturizing effect on the skin. Using products that contain these ingredients may help to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores by helping to sweep away dead skin cells, oil and other debris that has built up inside pores and on the skin's surface.
