4C hair is known for being tightly coiled, and it can be more prone to breakage, which can make it difficult to achieve longer hair. However, with the right care and maintenance, it is possible to grow 4C hair to your desired length.
Your hair growth rate doesn't have anything to do with your hair being 4c. The only legitimate difference would be shrinkage making the hair appear like it's not growing.
Water is the best hair regimen. Moisture increases hair growth. Remember that 4C hair is prone to drying very quickly so it's of utmost importance to keep it hydrated and moisturized. Moisturizing should be a daily routine. Spritz your head with water before styling.
Asian hair has the highest growth rate and is by far the most resilient hair type. African hair generally has a slower growth rate and less tensile strength and breaks more easily than other groups. Caucasian hair is somewhere in between the two.

4C hair is particularly prone to breakage because it's intrinsically dry. The oils produced by the scalp don't effectively travel far along the hair shaft. If they do, the cuticle layer is likely lifted and absorbs as well as losses these oils quickly thus exacerbating dryness.
Kimble says, "It is actually a big myth that dirty hair grows faster than clean hair. Having dirty hair can cause bacteria growth and scalp irritation. The bacteria growth can cause scalp diseases, which can, in turn, cause your hair to fall out or not grow properly."
5c hair type:
Type 5c hair texture has the tightest curl pattern among the other types. It forms a distinct "Z" shape and has a coarser texture. This hair type is often densely packed. Also, it requires extra care to maintain moisture and prevent breakage.
Most 4C hair textures fall under a low porosity, high shrinkage category, which means that the hair has a tough time absorbing moisture, is very fragile and easily breakable, and shrinks a lot when it's wet.
Those of us with textured hair may be familiar with the misconception that Black hair does not grow that long. This narrative was common in the pre 2010, In fact, afro textured hair, like all hair types hair does grow, and follows a 4-stage hair growth cycle - anagen, catagen, telogen and exogen.
Type 4B Hair - Your hair is prone to dryness and breaks and has a zig-zag shape and experiences shrinkage. Type 4C Hair - Your coils are dense and can range from fine and soft to coarse and wiry, your hair strand will have a "Z" shape and will experience significant shrinkage.
The curlier your hair is, the longer it will take to grow, and afro hair generally tends to grow slower than any other type with between one half to one third of an inch of hair growth per month. Dry, brittle hair is the most likely cause for your afro not growing.

Caucasians Lose The Most Hair
