Microblading, which is completely safe with a qualified artist, is meant to be semi-permanent. This means it is a semi-permanent tattoo that is intended to fade with time. With no touch-ups, microblading should fade completely within two years after the initial service.
After your initial microblading session, your skin should heal in 25 to 30 days. It'll likely feel tender and painful at first, but this will go away over time. Your brows will also darken and lighten before revealing their final color. It's normal for your skin to flake and peel as healing takes place.
This is totally normal and not an indicator of how your brows will heal. Around 7-14 days, you may notice some flaking/shedding of the skin near the brow area. When the skin flakes off, many times the Microblading strokes have disappeared. THIS IS NORMAL.
Appearance Is Faded but Still Looks Great
The decrease in thickness of your eyebrows will be noticeable ONLY if you'll compare your photos today vs. when your microbladed eyebrows are only weeks or months old. 3 years after microblading, they'll look more natural with time until they fade.
Your brow shape is fine and pigments didn't migrate out of the initial outline, but the color of microblading after 5 years has turned either reddish/orangey or gray/bluish. If your brows are not too saturated, this can be fixed with a microblading color correction.
Initially stronger in color, your new Microblade Eyebrows will soften to a natural looking, beautiful color in 10-14 days.

You should remain patient because microblading disappears after scabbing and it is normal. The pigment will reappear over time as the scabs fall off naturally. It is important to keep following the aftercare guidelines during this process and after six weeks you can go for an assessment of your microbladed brows.
You know if your artist went the right depth because you will hear a characteristic "tearing" sound in the skin. There will also be SOME pain (but not a lot). If this happens to you, you will know it because the pigment will come out as your scabs start to come off and all of the pigment will be gone within 2 weeks.
There is no need to be alarmed if there is some lightening to the brow color as this is normal. Immediately after the procedure, your new brows will be very dark, so any lighter shade over time causes panic. As the new skin heals over the incisions, the pigment will fade, and rows can start to look patchy.
Just mix salt with a drop of water and rub the treated area. It combines exfoliation with the property of sodium chloride to draw the pigments out of the skin, diminishing the visibility of the results. Some people say this is one of the most effective ways how to remove microblading at home.

EYEBROW AFTERCARE
Do not let any water, lotion, soap, or makeup touch your eyebrow area during the first 7 days after your procedure. Please wash your face carefully around the eyebrow without getting water on the treated area. During the shower, keep your face away from the shower head or take a bath.
Microblading scabbing can last anywhere from 3 days to a week, depending on how bad it is. Just know that eventually the scabbing will stop. Do note that this will result in a loss in pigment color on the brow. Your brows will look patchy and this is normal if scabbing does occur during your healing process.
How long does it take to heal? The eyebrow area will be slightly red after the procedure and color will appear very dark. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 40% as it heals.
Long story short: getting your eyebrows wet after Microblading by washing them with water and soap does NOT affect the result from the ink underneath your skin, because it's already being “treated” by your body's defense system the minute the PMU (Microblading, Ombre Brows, Powder Brows, etc) procedure starts.
The healing period after the microblading 6 week touch up is much shorter than after the initial process, since the treatment isn't as intense and there is less trauma to the skin. It usually takes 5-7 days and it is less complicated than the initial one.
Immediately after, the area will be EXTREMELY dark and get darker over the next 2 days as a scab forms in the area. 30-50% of your pigment will be in the scabs. Over the next 7-14 days your scabs should flake off bit by bit. Some people scab in light flakes and some develop a thick scab.
Retinol can be very effective in fading microblading, as well as other forms of brow tattoo, such as powder brows, ombre brows, nano brows etc. If you want your microbladed brows to appear lighter, apply retinol creams onto the area for some time. Many people get great results, and hopefully, you will too.
