Lipoedema is more common in women. It usually affects both sides of the body equally. Lipoedema can make your bottom, thighs, lower legs and sometimes your arms look out of proportion with the rest of the body. In early-stage lipoedema, you may have bigger legs, a narrow waist and a much smaller upper body.
It is all a genetics thing. If you consume more calories than your body can use, then it can transfer into a genetically chosen part of your body like your hips, waist, or inner thighs. It is also said that skinnier people with bigger thighs have less chance of heart disease and premature death.
Lipedema is a long-term condition that causes abnormal fat buildup in the lower part of your body. Lipedema most often involves your butt, thighs and calves. Some people have it in their hips or upper arms. It doesn't affect your hands or feet.
Hormonal changes – Inner thigh fat accumulation is typically spurred by hormonal imbalances due to age, pregnancy, menopause, or other factors. When this happens, your metabolism slows down while estrogen increases fat cells, making it more difficult to tone the inner thighs.
Huge thighs and no butt is probably because your body stores fat in the thighs. Once you do a proper muscle building program you can even out those things.
Cardiovascular workouts: These can be highly beneficial in slimming your thighs. These include using cardio equipment such as a treadmill, stationary bike, or elliptical trainer. Cardio for at least five days a week for half an hour can help you maintain healthy body weight and make your body slim.
Researchers tracked the volunteers for an average of 12.5 years. They found that people with big thighs had a lower risk of heart disease and premature death than those with thin thighs.
Why is Thigh Fat So Hard to Lose? Thigh fat tends to be stubborn due to several reasons: Genetics: Genetics plays a significant role in determining how and where your body stores fat. Some individuals may have a genetic predisposition to store excess fat in the thigh area.
STAGE 1. Smooth skin with an increase of enlarged subcutaneous fat tissue. Fat buildup around pelvis, buttocks, and hips.
Before the menopause, women store fat mainly in the subcutaneous fat stores (buttocks and thighs), while men are more prone to develop visceral (abdominal) fat. After the menopause, women also become more prone to storing fat in the abdomen.
Many wonder, what foods cause excess thigh fat? It's essential to limit the intake of processed foods, sugary drinks, and unhealthy fats. These foods are high in calories, added sugars, and unhealthy trans fats, which can contribute to weight gain and hinder fat loss.
Why Do Guys Like Thick Thighs? Thick thighs are fluffy and feel like pillows. Guys can lay their heads down and feel comfortable with the soft touch of a woman's skin. A guy also becomes aroused looking at women with thick legs because they associate thickness with child-bearing.
Gender: Women usually have higher amounts of body fat than men and are more likely to accumulate fat in the hips and buttocks. This is believed to be an evolutionary development that allows for added energy storage for a developing fetus. Men, in contrast, tend to have more visceral fat, especially in the abdomen.
Estrogen is one of the leading hormonal causes of thigh fat because it causes increased levels of fat cells which cause fat deposits to form in and around the thighs. Age can also be a contributing factor because aging results in a slower metabolism, which makes it more difficult to eliminate fat.
Inner thigh fat can be harder to lose than fat on other areas of the body since exercises that target the area build muscle more slowly and gradually, making visible weight loss less apparent than on areas such as the stomach or arms.
The lipedema fat itself is not smooth but feels like gelatin with small pea-sized nodules like foam balls in a bag. The excess fat growth on the buttocks, hips and legs gives a distorted pear shape to the body where the lower body is clearly out of proportion to the upper body (Figure 2).
Genetics and a lack of exercise are standard reasons, but for women, thigh fat can also commonly develop for estrogenic reasons. The amount of estrogen receptors in the thighs and the effect the hormone has on fat pads in the thigh area can also be primary causes.
At home, you can perform a simple pinch test to check for lipedema. Gently pinch the skin on your thigh or calf to determine if you can grab a small fold of skin. If it is difficult to pick up a fold of skin, it might indicate the presence of lipedema.
A low-impact way to lose calf fat is by walking often. As you get older, going for walks is a worthwhile way to get moving without putting too much pressure on your body. A daily walk also keeps your calf muscles from becoming large and bulky.
In brief, a woman's legs can at once please and tease. And while the partial display, or exposure, of a woman's breasts or butt “function” more obviously in this seductive manner, it's undeniable that for many men a pair of shapely legs alone have the power to effect this enthralled response.
Although you can't lose weight in just your thighs, you can incorporate exercises into your workout that will specifically target your thighs and help to tone them. Try simple exercises like lunges (both forward and side lunges), squats, and leg lifts.
