Botox should last between 3 to 4 months. After that time, you should see the effects of treatment begin to wear off. Xeomin will also last roughly three months. However, some patients have seen continued results right up to 6 months.
Is Xeomin or Botox better? Xeomin and Botox both work to smooth the skin and get rid of frown lines. While they are both comparable in effectiveness, some studies have shown that Xeomin has a quicker onset of action and a longer duration.
How Long Does XEOMIN Last? A single treatment session can take 15 minutes and will yield results within a week. The treatment results can last between three and six months. The longevity of the effects is similar to that of other treatments like Botox.
Although no exact dose conversion is available, both studies reported a 4:1 dosing equivalency between Botox/Xeomin and Dysport.
In general, Dysport takes more units than Botox® or Xeomin and starts to show results more quickly and costs less per unit. The onset of results takes longer with Botox® and Xeomin, but you will require fewer units to get the same results.
Dysport is more diluted than Botox. The difference in concentration typically occurs because Dysport uses smaller protein molecules to induce muscle relaxation. These smaller proteins are less likely to be broken down by antibodies, making the results of Dysport injections quite desirable for patients.
Dysport® is BOTOX®'s most well-known competitor. Unlike BOTOX®, which takes five to seven days to act, Dysport® can create visible results in as little as two days. The active ingredient in Dysport® also contains smaller molecules, so you may need less product if you choose Dysport®.
There are some basic guidelines: 20-40 units for the horizontal lines found on the forehead. 5-20 units to treat crow's feet around the eyes. 15-30 units for frown lines between the eyebrows.
Xeomin® is the latest cosmetic injectable approved by the FDA to treat facial lines and wrinkles. Xeomin®, like Botox® and Dysport®, are commonly used to treat dynamic wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles include the forehead lines, fine lines around the eyes, and the furrows between the eyebrows.
Xeomin is a newly-approved cosmetic injection that can lessen or get rid of wrinkle lines in the forehead and brow between the eyes. Like similar cosmetic treatments, Xeomin works by relaxing the muscles that cause wrinkles in the face and forehead.
A new product currently known as “RT002” is being developed by Revance Therapeutics as a long-lasting alternative to Botox. Also known as Daxibotulinumtoxin A, this product is injected into the target muscles just like Botox, but is shown to last up to 6 months instead of the 3 to 4 months that Botox lasts.
When injected into the muscle, this neurotoxin temporarily freezes the muscles so that it cannot contract. When the muscle cannot contract, those dynamic wrinkles fade until the effect wears off, approximately four months later.
Do NOT rub or massage the treated areas for 4 hours after your treatment. Do NOT practice Yoga or any type of strenuous exercise for 24 hours after treatment. Also, avoid facials or saunas for 24 hours after your treatment.
The total recommended Xeomin dose is 20 Units per treatment session divided into 5 equal intramuscular injections of 4 Units each. The 5 injection sites are: 2 injections in each corrugator muscle and one injection in the procerus muscle.
You typically need a similar dose of Botox than you would Xeomin. However, Botox is a more costly option, with the average treatment significantly higher per session.
How Often Should You Have Xeomin Treatment? Most patients opt to have regular Xeomin treatments about every 4 to 5 months to maintain results. You may need treatments more frequently if your appearance concerns are more varied or more severe.
During a lip flip procedure, your healthcare provider injects Botox into parts of your upper lip. After about a week, the injections make your lip look fuller or “poutier” without adding any volume to your lip. Lip flips generally look more natural than lip fillers.
75 units is a lot for an entire forehead! If the amount you were given was truly 75 units, you will probably be good to go for up to 4 months or longer, particularly for the forehead and muscles between the brows.
Let's understand this with an example. For the frown lines, 20 – 30 units of Botox is considered enough to relax the muscles. Similarly, for forehead lines, a woman may require up to 15 units to the desired results. Furthermore, for the crow's feet area, some individuals require up to 30 units for visible results.
Injecting Botox helps suck in the muscle and make it look taut. Doctors recommend anywhere between 20 to 60 units.
Why does Botox eventually stop working? Your body makes new neurotransmitters all the time, so the “blocking” effect of Botox gradually wears off as these chemicals start circulating in your body again. The muscles are no longer inhibited.
The main difference between the DAXI and Botox (Dysport, and Xeomin) is how long it lasts. “Instead of having your treatment last about three to four months, we've seen that DAXI lasts a lot longer at about six to eight months,” Dr. Katz says.
There is no definite age when you should start BOTOX®—it's more about the state of your skin, and everyone's timeline is different. For wrinkle treatments, it's best to start when you notice forehead lines, frown lines, or crow's feet even when your expression is neutral.
