Additionally after 8 weeks, patients can wear a stage 3 compression garment for comfort and to reduce swelling. These garments can be worn from week 7 to 12. You may also use your stage 2 Faja as your Stage 3.
Stage 3 Compression Faja.
This stage is 6-12 weeks post-surgery. At this time, your body and the incisions should have healed and almost wholly. This is necessary because these fajas are built with a waist trainer design.
The duration of wearing a faja after a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) is a common concern for patients considering this procedure. We typically recommend wearing a faja compression garment for approximately three months. The initial six weeks require 24-hour wear to support fat cell survival and reduce swelling.
After you wear your Stage 1 faja for three weeks, you will switch over to a Stage 2 faja, which you can purchase at one of your post-op appointments. The Stage 2 faja will be high compression and should feel much tighter than your Stage 1 faja.
The stage 1 faja should be low compression and worn for about 2-3 weeks after surgery. Then switch to stage 2 faja for more compression for about 6 months. You should plan to sleep in your stage 2 faja as well.
Stage 3 – Long-Term Support and Contouring
The compression garment you'll wear during this period is tighter compared to stage 2 fajas. It's designed to continue supporting the body as it heals fully and ensure adequate contouring in the weeks to come.
The stage 2 faja is a high-compression garment and should feel much tighter than the previous stage faja. It will be the same size as your stage 1 faja, but this garment is worn without using lipo forms and an abdominal board.
Unlike Stage 1 and Stage 2 compression garments, Stage 3 Faja offers the highest level of compression and support. Stage 3 Faja is typically worn during the later stages of recovery, approximately 8 weeks or more post-op.
Contrary to popular belief, fajas have no relation whatsoever to losing weight. They might give you a slimmer look and motivate you to go on a diet and exercise, but not more than that. Some compression garments also help tighten the skin, preventing the undesirable flappy skin look.
How long should it be worn? 24/7 for 4 weeks minimum. The only time the lipo foam should be removed is when you shower but be sure to put it back on! We suggest you continue to wear the foam whenever you're wearing your faja for up to 3 months.
In fact, wearing a garment that's too tight can negatively impact your BBL results, says Dr. Franco, who adds that it's a common mistake patients make.
You will be able to sleep on your back and your side after six weeks. Until then, you will need to sleep on your stomach to avoid putting pressure on the fat grafted areas. We cannot emphasize enough how important it is to adhere to these post-op aftercare and sleeping instructions.
Tight clothing, such as leggings or jeans, should be avoided for about 6 – 8 weeks after BBL surgery or until cleared by Dr. Charvet. Wearing tight jeans too soon after BBL can destroy the delicate fat cells that were transferred to the buttocks, meaning patients will not achieve their desired volume or shape.
Wear the post op stage 1 FAJA (compression garment) we provide you for at least 3 weeks 24/7. and feel a bit tight. Too much compression can prolong swelling and edema. compression so that once the inflammation goes down, it is still making compression.
The garment should be tight enough to provide adequate compression but not so tight that it disrupts sleep or causes discomfort. Materials that allow the skin to breathe and move without restriction are preferable. A comfortable fit ensures that patients can wear these garments throughout the night without issues.
If there is pain, you should stop wearing the garment immediately. For example, a good way to tell if the garment is too tight is if sliding your hand underneath it requires force. Another is if the garment starts to roll down; the garment should lay flat over your skin. If not, you know you need a larger size.
Does wearing a Faja reshape my body? Fajas are designed to temporarily reshape your body while you are wearing the garment.
For the first 2 weeks, you should absolutely wear the garment while sleeping. After this, Dr. Howland will allow you to wear the garment either during the day or at night. Most patients actually prefer sleeping in their compression garments since it can be comforting.
Daily use of tummy control shapewear like Fajas will make your midsection appear slimmer and help your clothes to fit better for a smoother appearance, giving men and women a boost in confidence. Because of the tightness in the tummy area, you will also feel full after eating smaller amounts.
Patients typically wear a compression garment for 4-6 weeks following larger body contouring procedures on average. For minor procedures, two weeks may be enough. The length of time you will need to wear a post-surgery garment may vary based on your surgeon's protocol.
Wear stage 1 faja x 1 month with foam/boards then switch to stage 2 (one that goes up the back and over the shoulders for even compression). Stage 2 is more compressive, can still use foam or board as needed. As tight as is comfortable is the goal.
Excessive creasing that digs into the waist or inner thighs means the faja is too small.
You can sit normally 6 weeks after your BBL.
Sometimes you can sit when you are 3 to 4 weeks out of surgery, but many surgeons prefer you to wait the full 6 weeks. You will also need to avoid sleeping on your back and sides during this time. To help, try wearing a backpack with a few tennis balls in it while sleeping.
Not wearing a compression garment after liposuction can lead to increased swelling, bruising, and discomfort. It can also slow down the healing process and increase the risk of complications, such as seromas or hematomas. In some cases, it may even affect the final outcome of the surgery.
