Moisturizing: Keeping the donor area moisturized can promote healing and reduce the risk of scabbing. Use a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer as per your surgeon's instructions. Healthy Habits: Maintaining a balanced diet and getting adequate sleep can contribute to faster recovery.
Itching is common during the healing phase. For the donor site ONLY, continue to apply Bacitracin or Polysporin twice per day on days two and three. Beginning on day four, apply Aquaphor ointment® two to three times per day to the donor site for up to two weeks until scabbing is no longer evident.
Days 3- 6 following surgery:
Continue to apply a light layer of Vaseline or Aquaphor to the donor area daily. IMPORTANT: At 1 – 4 weeks post-op, you can expect that some transplanted hair will begin to shed. This is a normal process and should not be a concern as all the transplanted grafts will shed during this time.

Please avoid scratching the recipient area and be very careful with the towel. Hair wash should be performed every day until all scabs fall off.
After the bandage is removed, you should apply bacitracin or Neosporin ointment over the donor site (back of the head where the bandage covered) twice each day for the next 3-4 days. Do NOT apply an=bio=c ointment to anywhere in the front or crown where grafts were placed.

This means not going swimming or taking a bath. Have a light shower and avoid getting the graft and donor sites area wet.

Finasteride is an oral medicine which is taken by patients for the longevity of transplanted hair, better hair growth, and even for improving the current hair. Surgeons use the magic of finasteride even before the transplant. To increase the density of the donor area, finasteride is consumed by the patient.
Three to Six Months: The donor area's healing continues, and the scars start to mature and blend with the surrounding skin. New hair growth begins to emerge from the transplanted follicles. Signs of infection: redness, warmth, unusual discharge or fever could indicate an infection that requires medical attention.
Dressings are used to cover the donor site or the grafted skin; this is done to enhance healing, improve patients' comfort and reduce the pain. Skin dressings can be broadly classified into medicated and non-medicated dressings. Medicated dressings include hydrocolloid dressings, hydrogel dressings.
