I recommend a thin layer of A&D ointment or aquaphor!
Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment (Aquaphor) on each eyebrow with a cotton swab and clean hands, spread a VERY THIN layer of the ointment across the treated area every morning and night.
PEROXIDE, NEOSPORIN, RETIN-A Do not use Peroxide, Neosporin, Retin-A or Glycolic Acids in the area while healing. DYES, WAX, TWEEZE Do not dye, exfoliate, wax or tweeze eyebrows for 2 weeks after treatment. EXERCISE Do not exercise for 14 days. Sweat can cause your pigment to fade and possibly not hold.
These oils can heal the brow as well as getting the best results in retaining pigment color in the skin. Important note: Avoid Petroleum Jelly or Vaseline during your healing period.
Myth #2: Use A&D ointment on eyebrows for healing. Fact: A&D while very effective for machine (rotary, digital etc) tattooed eyebrows works horribly for pigment and color retention on microbladed eyebrows. Big no-no, unless you want your microbladed eyebrows to go away and never come back.
For about 2 to 10 days following your microblading service, make sure to wash your eyebrows gently (patting motion, not rubbing) each morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap such as Dial or a Cetaphil Cleanser. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows.
The worst days after microblading are typically the first two, when you'll likely experience puffiness, redness, and tenderness.
BROW REWIND is an easy-to-use, at-home solution designed to gently reduce the appearance of unwanted pigment from microblading and cosmetic eyebrow tattoos. Formulated with skin-friendly ingredients, it also helps soften the look of scar tissue, promote skin health, and support natural eyebrow hair growth.
It's important not to overdo it, as an excessive amount of ointment can hinder the skin's ability to breathe and delay the healing process. Avoid the temptation to pick, peel, or scratch the treated area. Interfering with the healing skin could result in pigment loss or even scarring.
Face washes, serums, sprays, exfoliants, moisturizers, etc. SHOULD NOT BE APPLIED UNTIL 14 DAYS AFTER MICROBLADING. Products that are exfoliating or have exfoliating acids or promote cell turnover will cause your microblading to fade.
You want to make sure to keep the area moist with Aquaphor, all day long 24/7 for at least 10 days.
Around days eight or nine of the healing process, your brows may take on a spooky appearance, appearing faded, gray, or even patchy. This is known as the microblading ghosting phase. The fading is a regular and temporary part of the healing process. Your bold, beautiful brows will make their triumphant return.
The hair strokes will fade. And once that happens, it's difficult to put them back in the same place. In the case of having oily skin, this effect will be faster and the pigment in the lines will start to blur. The results are blurry hair strokes- nothing like they looked like when you got them done for the first time.
When your freshly microbladed eyebrows get wet, the pigment can loosen. Unlike traditional tattoos, microblading does not penetrate deep into the skin. The pigment remains close to the skin's surface, which makes it vulnerable to external factors like water.
Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Alternatively, you can use a different healing ointment like Aquaphor. It's important to make sure there are no added antibiotics or harsh ingredients that can break down pigment in your brows.
Wash the microbladed area twice per day followed by applying the microblading aftercare ointment. At the start and end of each day, use your clean fingertips and a mild antibacterial soap, like Cetaphil, to gently cleanse your eyebrows for 10-15 seconds.
Clean your brows with damp cotton pads before reapplying the healing balm. Apply a thick layer of Vaseline to your brows when showering or washing your hair to protect them from getting wet. Remove it carefully with damp cotton pads afterward. Do not use Vaseline as a moisturiser—only as a water barrier.
Vaseline. Aftercare anti-oxidant like Vaseline is very effective when you feel like your skin is itchy or dry. It can be used as pain relief and is best applied one or two times a day. Like any other ointments, Vaseline prevents the scabs from coming off for the following days.
(Neosporin ointment is not recommended!) Apply VeraGel twice daily to treated areas for 14 days. *Will be provided at time of procedure. Over the counter Cetaphil may be used following eyebrow microblading w/a clean Q-Tip, once a day for 6 – 7 days following procedure.
The absolute best results come from keeping your microbladed brows constantly moist with the cream that you have been given for the next 7 days.
