Don't use scented soap, makeup, or lotion on the treated area until it's fully healed. This will usually be at least 10 days after your procedure. You may lose some hair on the treated area.
Avoid antiseptics such as Betadine, Savlon or Dettol. These antiseptics can help kill bacteria if the wound is infected, but they are toxic to new developing skin cells and can delay wound healing.
At °CRYO, we recommend seven to 10 sessions either a few days apart or over a two to three week spread if you want to optimize your benefits and maintain them. Newer clients should aim for their sessions to be closer in succession while regulars can have one to two a week, depending on their goals.
Allow your body to heal the spots over the next several weeks. Do not pick off the scabs as they form as this can slow down healing and may lead to scarring. You may wash your skin and use any make-up or cosmetics as usual. If the spot is painful and rubbing on clothing, covering the spot with a band aid will help.
It's recommended to wait at least 30 minutes to an hour after your session before taking a shower.

Put Vaseline or Aquaphor on the treated area every day for 2 weeks. This will help the area heal and will keep it from crusting. If the treated area does develop a crust, you can put petroleum jelly (Vaseline) on the area until the crust falls off.
The benefits of Cryotherapy for Weight Loss
As mentioned above, exposure to sub-zero temperatures for a short period of time can help you lose upwards of 800 calories. Given the fact that the average session is about 3 minutes, but no longer than 5 minutes, cryotherapy is one of the fastest ways to lose weight.
You may need to drink more water than you normally would to stay hydrated after your cryotherapy session. It's also important to stay hydrated afterward to ensure that the toxins keep moving and get flushed out of your system. Make sure you drink plenty of water pre and post-session.
Can you overdo cryotherapy? It depends. Cryotherapy sessions haven't been shown to hinder recovery or post-workout adaptations. However, staying in the cold too long, especially in the extreme temperatures of whole-body cryotherapy, can damage tissues through frostbite.
Cryotherapy may relieve pain
Studies suggest that slower nerve signaling is how cold therapy, in general, helps relieve pain. According to one review, local and whole-body cryotherapy may ease chronic pain from conditions like fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis. But the evidence is very limited.
If your goal is to get back to the gym at full capacity as quickly as possible with minimum downtime and reduced soreness, getting cryotherapy after a workout is the way to go.

Other contraindications for cryosurgery are conditions that can be exacerbated by cold exposure such as cryoglobulinemia, multiple myeloma, Raynaud disease, cold urticaria, previous history of cold induce injury at the site or limb, as well as poor circulation at the site or in that limb.
The cost of cryosurgery can range from $100 to several hundred dollars. This will depend on how many procedures you need. (Some people have several skin lesions that need treatment.)
The Food and Drug Administration has approved cryolipolysis to treat fat deposits beneath the chin, upper arms, inner and outer thighs, abdomen, hip/flank (“love handles”), upper back (“brassiere rolls”), lower back, and underneath the buttocks.
Following regular, consistent whole body CRYO sessions, overseas studies have shown you can burn about 2000−3300 Kilojoules (kJ). That's around 500 – 800 calories. So, a 3 minute CRYO session could be the equivalent of a 45 minute run. In order to achieve weight loss, you may need to burn an extra 500 calories per day.
Simple rest & recovery
We advise patients to avoid strenuous activity for at least 48 hours after cryotherapy, as this can delay the healing process. Make sure to give your body enough time to rest and recover. Depending on your individual healing process, you may need a day or two before you feel back to normal.

As your fat cells freeze during your CoolSculpting treatment, you are changing the texture of the fat cell itself. Once the cell freezes, it collapses and it triggers the cell to die. During this process, your body excretes the dead fat cells through your lymphatic system.
Cold-induced parasympathetic activation enhances long-term muscle recovery and improves sleep quality. Cryotherapy after strenuous exercise also relieves exercise-induced hyperthermia, thus reducing brain-mediated fatigue and cardiovascular strain.
Swelling and redness – this is a normal immediate response to freezing the skin and usually settles after two to three days. For a short while the treated area may ooze a little watery fluid. Cryotherapy close to the eyes may induce prominent puffiness of the lower eyelids which settles within days.
