The one stitch face lift, despite the name, does not use threads or barbed sutures but the patient's own skin which is de-epithelialized and used as a handle to move up the sagging jowls and cheeks into a more youthful position. It is done under local anesthesia through a tiny incision in the sideburn area.

You have stitches under the skin on your face. Facial skin is delicate, and after surgery, it's even moreso. If you do roll onto your face at night, the friction from this movement can aggravate your healing tissue. This can cause added swelling, possible bleeding and damage to the sutures.
After 48 hours, surgical wounds can get wet without increasing the risk of infection. After this time, you can get your stitches wet briefly with a light spray (such as in the shower), but they should not be soaked (for example, in the bath). Make sure you pat the area dry afterwards.
