While microblading was arguably one of the most popular beauty trends of 2018, a new brow technique is ready to replace it. But what is nanoblading? Just like microblading, nanoblading is a semi-permanent brow treatment that uses a combination of fine needles and pigment to create realistic-looking hair strokes.
Powder Brows, results in the MOST realistic and Natural looking outcome. Microblading is best for you if you're more of a "Naturalista" vs. "Glamazon." However, if you prefer a more defined brow, Powder Brows are your best bet!
If you're looking for a made-up look, then Microshaded brows should be it for you. Microbladed brows tend to have a more made-up finish, which is great for glamming up but might not have a natural appearance for everyday activities. It can tend to look really defined and solid.
Similar to microblading, nanoblading is a form of brow tattooing that implements a handheld tattoo machine tool and one very fine needle (as opposed to microblading, which uses several) to semi-permanently lay pigment under the skin, approximating the look of actual eyebrow hairs.
Brow tinting is a no-needle, no-blade way to fill in your brows. To use it, you “paint” some of the tint on your brow, wait two hours and then peel off the paint. What's left is a stain of color that lasts a little longer than a gel or a powder (3 days to a week), and is WAY more affordable than microblading eyebrows.
Microblading could cause: Infection. If your technician uses dirty water or equipment, they can spread bacteria like staphylococcus (staph). They could also spread viruses like HIV, hepatitis, or herpes.
Microshading lasts a bit longer than microblading. Microblading lasts about 18 months on average, while microshading usually lasts about 2 years. The reason is that the delicate hair strokes fade faster than the shadow.

The average price of powder brow treatment is $500. However, it can be much higher, and, of course, you can find it for much less money.
When you get powdered brows, you should return for a touch-up procedure two months after the original procedure. After that, the brows should last between one and three years.
The ideal candidates for powdered brows are those who have hair, but fill in with makeup. If you have thinner brows, we can add in hair strokes after for additional texture. Powdered brows traditionally last for 2-4 years while microblading usually lasts 2-3 years.
Also known as nano needling or micropigmentation, nano needle brows are created with one single needle and a permanent makeup device. Similar to a conventional tattoo machine (although nowhere near as intense or painful!), the device is then used to provide controlled movement as it dispenses pigment into the skin.
Eyebrow restoration
You can talk with a dermatologist or cosmetic surgeon about hair grafts that target your eyebrows. These types of grafts use your existing hair follicles to fill in thin spots and encourage regrowth.
Does microshading hurt? You can expect some discomfort — more than tweezing or waxing, but less than a tattoo. Your makeup technician will apply a numbing cream over your eyebrows before starting the procedure. Your brows will be sore once the numbing cream wears off.
Ombré shading is a semi-permanent eyebrow styling technique that uses a small machine to place extremely thin dots of pigment into the skin, creating a soft-shaded brow pencil look. For most beauty lovers, leaning into your mirror to precisely fill in your eyebrows is the most stressful part of your routine.
Micropigmentation, also known as permanent makeup, permanent cosmetics or cosmetic tattooing, is a cosmetic procedure used to improve or replace lost coloring on your skin. Micropigmentation is most often used on your face – to enhance eyebrows, eyelashes, eyelids (as eyeliner) and lips.
Microshading, also referred to as powder brows or ombre brows, uses a tattoo gun to create pixel dots of pigment that heal to a powdery finish, which gives that soft, filled-in makeup look.
LESS INVASIVE: Ombré powder brows are achieved using a small machine, which disperses extremely fine dots of pigments even into and across the skin in an airbrush or shading technique. Microblading uses a hand-tool that creates incisions or small cuts into the skin.
"With microshading, the little dots ultimately end up looking more natural because it kind of looks like the brow is almost powdered in." Microshading is also a little less invasive than microblading.
Your brow shape is fine and pigments didn't migrate out of the initial outline, but the color of microblading after 5 years has turned either reddish/orangey or gray/bluish. If your brows are not too saturated, this can be fixed with a microblading color correction.
Permanent makeup using a machine will produce longer lasting results than microblading. The pigment is deposited in the dermal layer of the skin about the depth of a dime. It's a very important factor to know exactly where you are placing the pigment so you retain those crisp hair strokes.
Appearance Is Faded but Still Looks Great
The decrease in thickness of your eyebrows will be noticeable ONLY if you'll compare your photos today vs. when your microbladed eyebrows are only weeks or months old. 3 years after microblading, they'll look more natural with time until they fade.
