Most people will take somewhere between four to six weeks to recover from their BBL procedure. After this time, healing should be almost complete, although your body may continue to absorb some of the injected fat for several months after the BBL.

Two Weeks Post-Op BBL
Over the next couple of weeks of your BBL recovery timeline, more of the excess fat cells will be reabsorbed by the body. As this happens, you'll slowly notice small refinements taking place in your butt's shape and size. You'll still be swollen but it will be much less noticeable.
As you enter the third and fourth weeks following your BBL, you'll generally find that you're feeling much better, and any initial pain and discomfort should mostly have gone away. While you may still notice some lingering swelling, it should be diminishing week by week.
When the skin relaxes, your backside will fluff up. During this fluffing stage, your buttocks will start to look rounder and will both feel and look more natural. Your BBL will also get a little bigger as the fat cells are able to relax and stretch their legs in their new home.
DON'T Massage the buttock or any area where fat was transferred. This needs to heal without disruption. Massage is ideally performed under the direction of a massage therapist (preferably one trained in lymphatic massage). This can be started immediately and a typical protocol would be 2-3 x per week for 2 – 3 weeks.
Swelling is most apparent in the first week following a Brazilian Butt Lift. This is normal and occurs because your body is working overtime to heal. It is not unusual for swelling to be at its worst at three to four days after surgery.

You will be able to sleep on your back and your side after six weeks. Until then, you will need to sleep on your stomach to avoid putting pressure on the fat grafted areas. We cannot emphasize enough how important it is to adhere to these post-op aftercare and sleeping instructions.
Prolonged Swelling: Without lymphatic drainage massage, the body may take longer to remove excess fluids from the tissues, resulting in prolonged swelling.
