Healing and aftercare
According to the SPCP, people may experience some mild swelling after a lip blushing procedure. Some people may also experience minor bleeding or bruising.
The swelling should go down around 2 days after your lip blushing tattoo treatment. By the 3-day mark, the lip blush hue should get a bit darker than it was right after the procedure. During this time, it is crucial to continue cleansing and moisturizing the area twice a day.
Excessive bleeding during a lip tattoo procedure will reduce the amount of pigment absorption. Caffeine, alcohol, certain food or drink, and certain medications or vitamins may act as stimulants and/or blood-thinners. They should avoided for a minimum 48 hours prior to your appointment.
“[If you want both], start with filler because it alters shape and volume, and you don't want the lip blushing to not look as clear.” The experts suggest waiting between 4-6 weeks after lip filler to get lip blushing. Note: fillers attract water and will cause more swelling while healing from cosmetic tattooing.
Is lip blushing safe? Lip blushing is quite safe if your treatment is done by a licensed professional. It is not recommended for those who are pregnant, nursing, or undergoing chemotherapy or medical care or treatment (such as Accutane).
The pain is surprisingly minimal.
Because the skin on your lips is extra porous, the anesthesia is much more effective than it would be on, say, your brows during a microblading session. As someone with about 15 (very painful) tattoos, I admit that I didn't believe him at first.
Can lip blush be removed with your saline removal technique? Sadly, at this time, tattoos on your actual lips cannot be removed. However, if the lip was tattooed outside of the natural lipline, this technique is very effective at removing the overdrawn portion.
