The one stitch face lift, despite the name, does not use threads or barbed sutures but the patient's own skin which is de-epithelialized and used as a handle to move up the sagging jowls and cheeks into a more youthful position. It is done under local anesthesia through a tiny incision in the sideburn area.
Even then, we place these threads in a few different locations to lift the face. While we do get results, it's subtle and nowhere near the results of a typical facelift, and it only lasts maybe a year to 18 months.
The one stitch facelift is specially designed to improve the midface and jawline appearance with long-lasting results for nearly five years, depending on the ageing profile, facial anatomy, skin quality, and lifestyle. However, you might need to complement with other procedures to improve the mid-face area.
A one-stitch facelift requires two small incisions near each sideburn where the skin anchors the lift and holds the tissue in place. You will see dramatic improvements in the elevation of your cheeks as well as the minimization of your jowls, deep nasolabial folds, and skin laxity.
The results after a one stitch or temporal facelift are permanent as it is a surgical procedure however it will not stop the face from ageing over time. If your skin elasticity is good then you can expect to continue seeing the results for years to come.
After 48 hours, surgical wounds can get wet without increasing the risk of infection. After this time, you can get your stitches wet briefly with a light spray (such as in the shower), but they should not be soaked (for example, in the bath). Make sure you pat the area dry afterwards.
The two stitch mini Facelift is an advanced version of thread lifts. Conventional thread lifts involve the use of barbed threads of various descriptions, with no removal of excess skin, and the duration of the results are dependent on the scarring and fibrosis that follow.
The deep plane facelift is generally considered the most comprehensive and long lasting type of facelift. This facelift involves the layer of muscles under your facial skin. These muscles are responsible for much of the drooping or sagging you may experience in your face as you age.
A small area of skin is removed right at the hairline in front of the ear and a lifting thread is placed under the skin with a special instrument. The face is lifted instantly by tightening the thread, which is anchored securely to the muscle through a separate, small incision hidden behind the hairline.
Since a thread lift is less invasive than a facelift, a greatly reduced recovery time means results show much sooner compared to a facelift. Still, a thread lift is a form of minor surgery so it may have side effects. Some potential side effects include: Tenderness or pain after the procedure.
Usually, after a traditional SMAS lift, 40-50 stitches are used to cover the residual scars located close to the incision site at the hairline, in front and behind the ears. These stitches are removed at the fourth day after the surgery to avoid railroad track scars along the incision line.

It can typically take 4-5 hours to complete. This type of facelift is ideal for older patients who have excessive skin and muscle laxity with deep wrinkles. Results can be very dramatic, often turning back the clock 10-15 years. A mini facelift will address specific segments of the face.
You'll notice some lifting and tightening almost immediately, and because this treatment stimulates collagen production, your skin will keep improving in appearance in the weeks to come. A follow-up treatment every 12 months is the best way to maintain your results.
Expect to Look Worse Before Looking Better
Don't be alarmed by significant facial swelling and bruising. These effects are typical after a facelift, but gradually diminish as you heal. After your surgery, we'll send you home with dressings covering your face.
1 Week Post-Op
During the first week after your facelift, you can expect swelling and bruising around your lower face, ears and neck. Swelling may be uneven, so don't be alarmed if your results don't look perfectly symmetrical at this stage.
Complications: Although thread lift is considered minimally invasive, some sutures and cuts are required. There is still a risk of complications such as bruising, thread breakage, thread extrusion, fever, and infection.
For those who want to return immediately to their busy, active lifestyles, BOTOX injections may be the best bet. For clients who are seeking a longer-lasting solution for facial aging, a thread lift is a more appropriate procedure.
If the thread has become extruded it may be possible to simply remove it, otherwise you may have to have it surgically removed, possibly through a facelift incision.
The most dramatic yet natural-looking results occur with a full SMAS facelift with the incisions on either side of the face beginning at the temple and extending down and around the ear to the lower scalp. These incisions are well hidden within the hairline.
In some cases a facelift can be done early in life but, in most cases, a facelift works best for people who are in their 40s, 50s, and 60s, when the signs of aging begin to appear more prominently on your face. Those deep lines, wrinkles, fine lines, and sagging skin you see are indicators of the aging process.
Facelift – Facelift surgery is often considered the ideal solution for moderate to significant jowling. Designed to lift and tighten sagging facial tissue, this procedure can effectively reduce the appearance of jowls and create a more defined jawline.
This treatment is called the 10-point face lift as it targets 10 areas in the face that commonly lose volume as we age. During this treatment we are looking to place filler in each of the 10 points on each side of the face in order to restore youthful volume and underlying support.
