Clean your lashes twice or three times a week if you don't have such issues. Whenever you engage in physical activities like swimming, or gym sessions, you have to clean your lash extensions afterward. You shouldn't wet these extensions within 48 hours of their application.
We recommend you clean your extensions at least 2 – 3 times a week. However, if you want to keep your lashes super fresh and fluffy you should clean them every day especially if you wear eye makeup or have oily skin.
When should you clean your lash extensions? Clean your lash extensions every day - or twice a day if you're an eye makeup wearer or have oily skin or eyelids. I recommend cleaning lash extensions at night to remove the day's facial oils, dust, dirt and makeup.
You may have developed Blepharitis! Blepharitis commonly occurs when the tiny oil glands of the inner eyelid become inflamed, Symptoms include red, itchy eyelids that may look greasy and crusted. If you do end up seeing a doctor he/she will probably tell you that you have an infection..
Use a gentle, oil-free and alcohol-free cleanser – such as a foaming face cleanser, facial soap or baby shampoo – and work it gently into your lashes and over your eyelids. Use an up-and-down motion so you don't tug at your eyelashes and concentrate on the lash line as this is where dirt and bacteria can build up.
It is best to dunk your washcloth in water and wring it out. Any bit of water left on your eyelashes can weigh them down and make you feel uncomfortable. Lightly dab your face in order to remove the foam or residue from your cleanser. It isn't likely you will get all of it the first time you clean your face.
Glued to the skin instead of lashes: When eyelash extensions are glued to the skin, it creates something called a nailhead. This will eventually pull out natural lashes and hurt your eyes within days or weeks after the treatment.
With eyelash extensions you want to wash your face around your lashes. Try not to splash water from the sink over your whole face when it's time to rinse. I carefully remove face wash (I've been using CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser for years now) from all around my face without splashing my eyes.
Clients SHOULD be cleaning their lash extensions every day with a lash cleanser, and they DO NOT need to wait 24 hours before showering or washing their face.
Clean Lashes = Better Retention
Build up of oil, skin, dirt, and makeup on your extensions will cause premature shedding and can break down the adhesive. Your lashes are meant to catch debris to protect your eyes and your extensions will do the same. So make sure you're cleansing these impurities away.
Yes, micellar water is safe to clean eyelash extensions and will not damage them. While micellar water can weaken the lash glue when it's infused with oil, a water-based product is completely safe.
What happens if glue gets in your eyes? During the lash application process your eyes will be closed the entire time. Because of this the likelihood of getting glue into your eyes is slim to none.
Generally it is only normal if you lose between 3 to 5 lashes per day. Your natural eyelashes fall off and regenerates at a reasonable rate. When you rub your eyes some of your natural lashes twist off. But if you lose most of your eyelash extensions within the first week it isn't normal.
So, do eyelash extensions damage your eyelashes? Eyelash extensions do not damage your eyelashes when they are applied properly. To prevent damaging natural lashes, lash extensions should be carefully selected (length and thickness) and applied correctly to one natural eyelash at a time.
Use a good lash styling wand. Avoid brushing at the point of attachment, so that you don't inadvertently weaken the adhesive bond or pull the extensions loose. Brush in a motion that follows the natural curl of the extension. Each brushing session should take no more than 30 seconds to complete.
Please DON'T use micellar water, makeup wipes, baby oil or baby shampoo to remove your makeup – these contain oils, with makeup wipes usually snagging and pulling on your extensions.

To maintain a full, soft and lush look, we recommend only 1 set of refills (or in rare cases an absolute maximum of two) in between each full set. Think of it like this- if you applied hairspray to your hair too many times in between washes, your hair would be stiff and clumpy.
Your lash extensions only last a week!
This often happens when not enough lash extensions have been applied. If you think you've found the cheapest technician around then the chances are they aren't spending enough time during the appointment to provide a long lasting, full lash effect.
If the humidity is very high during your lash appointment, the adhesive may set too quickly. If the adhesive sets before the extension attaches to the natural lash then there will be poor adhesion and the lash will eventually just pop off after a day or two.
It's also good to note that baby shampoo can contain such things as fragrance, artificial colours and mineral oils that overtime, and with extended use, will break down the integrity of the adhesive, causing lashes to have shorter retention. In short, using baby shampoo as a lash cleanser is not recommended. AT ALL.
