Results: We found distinct trends of personal care product use by race/ethnicity: Latina women typically used makeup most frequently; Black women used certain hair products or styles most frequently; and Vietnamese women were most likely to use facial cleansing products compared to other races/ethnicities.
[LJ]: Gen X are heavier purchasers of makeup and hair products than both younger and older consumers. But in skin care and fragrances, their purchase behavior is most in line with younger consumers than with boomers, which is a trend we observed throughout the research results. They are not the old older consumer.
For example, women are often the primary target market for makeup and skincare products, while men are increasingly becoming interested in grooming and skincare products.
