To maintain your lash lift for as long as possible, switch to oil-free cleansers, makeup removers, and skincare products around your eyes. Oil can break down the lifting solution and shorten the life of your lift.
Apply a nourishing lash serum or conditioner to help soften the lashes. This can help reduce the curl over time. Steam Your Face: Boil water and let it cool slightly. Place your face over the steam (keeping a safe distance) for about 10-15 minutes. The heat and moisture can help relax the lashes.
It's too easy to accidentally not follow aftercare - rubbing your eyes, sleeping on your face, working out, getting water on your lashes - these are all things that could potentially ruin any lash lift if done within 24 hours of the procedure.
As long as you don't get anything (including water) on your lashes for the first 24 hours, you're not going to mess up the lift. Oil is fine. The lash serum I use and recommend is Neulash. I've personally had the best results with it, it's not a product I sell.
High heat and steam can relax the curl of your lashes. Avoid saunas, hot showers, and steam rooms for at least 24-48 hours after your treatment to keep your lashes looking their best. Waterproof mascara can be tough to remove and usually requires oil-based removers, which can compromise your lash lift.
If you have lash extensions, it's important to avoid Vaseline altogether. The oil-based nature of Vaseline can break down the adhesive used to bond the extensions to your natural lashes. This can cause them to detach prematurely, ruining your lash extensions and potentially damaging your natural lashes in the process.
However, when a lash lift goes wrong, there's nothing you can do except waiting. No amount of applying the nourishing solution will fix the mess. Simply let your lashes rest for a few weeks and then you can give them a second try.
Relax the Lash Lift Using the Same Solutions
Apply the lifting solution using a spoolie for no more than two to three minutes, brushing them out or against the lift. This will break down the bonds of the lifting solution and should cause the lashes to relax and straighten out.
The most straightforward solution for over-processed lashes is to wait for them to fall out and be replaced by new growth naturally. This process usually takes several weeks. During this time, avoid additional lash treatments to allow full recovery.
Also avoid face washes that are mainly oil, which may cause the lashes to drop prematurely. Two days after the service, start using the recommended lash product, like castor oil or coconut oil. Coat the entire lash with the oil and comb out, then leave on overnight. Make sure to remove all traces of mascara and makeup.
How to Remove a Lash Lift at Home? Consistent application of nourishing oils or serum over several nights is a trusted method to ease a lash lift.
The excess moisture and oils in natural tears can cause lashes to degrade, so watch any sad movies before your appointment versus after. However, if a few tears fall, fear not! Crying once likely won't ruin a lash enhancement. You may want to hold off on lash lifts altogether if you have excessively watery eyes.
Do not get your lashes wet for the first 24 hrs. Do not use harsh products on your eyes/lashes. Use of Sauna/Steam is possible after 24hrs but may weaken the effect of the lift.
You must wait 24 hours after a lift and tint to shower. We use 24 hours as a buffer time to allow the lashes to set properly and avoid any issues with the lift. After the 24 hours waiting period you can wash your face and lashes like normal.
Sleeping face down, although comfortable for many, poses a significant risk to your freshly lifted lashes. Here's why: Pressure and Friction: Pressing your face into a pillow creates unnecessary pressure and friction on your lashes, which can cause them to lose their new shape or even break.
Remove the Lift Solution: Soften and wipe away the lift solution with a warm, damp cotton pad, gently working downwards on your lashes. Cleanse Your Lashes: Use an oil-free cleanser to remove any remaining product, ensuring your lashes are completely clean.
Even if you are doing a lash lift at home or getting an eyelash perm, a lash serum is safe to use.
The safest and most effective way to reverse a bad lash lift is to consult a professional. An experienced lash technician can assess the situation and use a gentle solution to relax and straighten the lashes.
Many factors can play into an unsuccessful lash lift. Your shield placement, how you cleansed the lashes, how you stored your lash supplies, the placement of the lifting solution, and so many other small details can have a significant impact whenever you perform a lash lift service.
Usually, lash lifts last 6-8 weeks on average, but this can vary depending on several factors, including how well you look after them. It's important to use an oil-free makeup remover and avoid rubbing or sleeping with your face against a pillow when sleeping.
As we state in our lash lift aftercare instructions, we highly recommend avoiding water AND makeup products for at least 24 hours after your treatment (& longer if possible). The reason we ask you to keep your lashes dry is to ensure that the curl has the appropriate amount of time to settle and properly form.
Although the best thing about a Lash Lift – your client most likely won't need to use any lash products! Oil-based products will break down the solution, so recommend they stay clear from any cleansers, creams or face masks that include oils to ensure the lashes stay lifted.
Castor oil is also a popular contemporary choice for promoting hair growth, including lashes. It is very rich in fatty acids that nourish and hydrate your eyelashes, while vitamin E adds an extra boost of nourishment. Mix equal parts of castor oil and vitamin E oil in a small dropper bottle.
METHOD 6: REGULAR OIL
You can even try using Vaseline with this method! STEP 1: Using a cotton pad or bud, saturate your eyes with the oil. Let it sit over your lash line for 20-30 seconds to allow it to dissolve the lash glue. STEP 2: Gently wipe downwards to dislodge the lashes.
