Shrinking your pores isn't physically possible since their size is determined by genetics, but you can make them appear smaller.
Pores physically cannot shrink. They are a result of your genetics, trauma to your skin (like incorrect at-home extractions resulting in expanding your pore), aging, dehydration, etc are all factors into their size & appearance. Don't believe any products or service that claims it can change pore size.
No7 Protect & Perfect Intense Advanced Serum
First, let's get this out of the way: It's not possible to actually shrink your pores or reduce the number of pores you have. But, here's the good news: There are tons of products on the market that minimize their appearance, like face peels, scrubs, toners and primers.
MYTH #3: You Can Get Rid of Pores Completely
You can't get rid of your pores and honestly, you don't want to! Pores help us sweat, cool us off, and keep our skin looking healthy. They produce a moisturizing oil called sebum that keeps our skin soft and supple. They're critical to helping our bodies function!
You cannot remove the holes from your face completely naturally. Natural ingredients may aid in reducing their appearance. You can look for apple cider vinegar, turmeric powder, coconut oil, and manuka honey. The four are known for their impressive benefits.
Specialist strength glycolic, lactic or retinoic acid peels can also aid in decreasing pores size. For large pores, I perform either TCA or laser resurfacing. TCA CROSS or paint is an excellent treatment for very deep, and large pores in all skin types- including ethnic skin.
Use clay masks
Clay masks are useful for removing gunk inside your pores to make them look smaller. You can use clay masks alternatively with exfoliating skin probably about one to two times a week.
Studies show that applying retinol cream reduces pore size and keeps them cleaner, emptying the impurities that otherwise give an oversized appearance. Retinol is most effective when used as night cream. While there are plenty of over-the-counter products available, a dermatologist-prescribed retinol is most effective.
Skin pores are openings of the pilosebaceous follicles. They are rarely visible at a younger age and tend to become larger and conspicuous as one gets older.
It's not possible to close up pores completely but there are ways to reduce their size or make them less visible. This includes: washing the face twice a day to wash away oil and dirt from the pores. using an oil-free moisturizer to prevent the pores from becoming clogged with oil.
Baking Soda Treatment
Not only does it get rid of impurities, but it also helps reduce pore sizes in the process. Combine two tablespoons of baking soda with lukewarm water to form a paste. Spread the mixture onto the affected areas and massage the paste in circles on your face.
As your pore size is mostly a result of your genetics, you can't permanently shrink them. However, you can minimize their appearance by keeping them clear of oil and debris and boosting your skin's collagen and elastin. These steps also prevent pores from growing larger.
It's commonly thought that because witch hazel has “astringent” properties, it can “dry up” acne. However, acne isn't about skin being wet, so drying it with astringent ingredients won't help. In truth, the irritation caused by the witch hazel can make blemishes worse.
Skin toners and astringents contract tissue help to close the opening of the pore temporarily and this makes them look smaller. The term 'astringent' means to contract tissue. Witch hazel is a time-honored astringent, and my absolute favorite!
In-office chemical peels with exfoliating acids (like TCA, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and lactic acid) and/or retinoids are clutch when it comes to minimizing the appearance of pores and uneven skin texture.
Citrus fruits: Oranges, lemons, and grapefruits are like a vitamin C power-up for your skin. Vitamin C is a superhero here, boosting collagen production and making your pores less noticeable. Plus, these fruits have natural acids that gently exfoliate, keeping your pores clear and happy.
Benzoyl peroxide attacks the bacteria on your skin. It also helps to unclog pores by removing dead skin to prevent blockages. This treats existing acne and may help prevent new spots. It works best when you use it regularly.
A serum with salicylic acid is the best face serum for open pores as it gently exfoliates dead skin cells, reduces excess oil, and removes blackheads and whiteheads. It helps to unclog pores and prevent them from enlarging.
