NIVEA Naturally Good products are carefully created with organic ingredients such as Chamomile, Argan Oil, Aloe Vera, Avocado Oil, Cocoa Butter and Green Tea. Our Naturally Good products are composed of 99% or 98% naturally derived ingredients to bring out the natural beauty in you.
Is Nivea vegan? Nivea has products that are without animal products, but as they do currently test on animals, they still aren't cruelty-free, they aren't really vegan either. Check out our favourite cruelty-free skincare product recommendations next.
Nivea is actually owned by the German based Beiersdorf. In researching whether or not Nivea products are vegan, I did find out that Beiersdorf does not test on animals, which is a good sign. However, many of the products still contain animal ingredients. It is best to check the ingredients on the package yourself.
We are making very good progress with these formula changes: With NIVEA, we were able to achieve this goal by the end of 2021. Since then, NIVEA products are completely free of solid microplastics.
Recycling. Our packaging is 100% recyclable.
For example, our NIVEA Fresh Blends Shower Cream bottles offer up a biodegradable, vegan formula and are made of 97% recycled plastic. And as part of Beiersdorf's 2025 target, we are aiming for 100% recyclable, refillable or reusable packaging by that date.
Is Nivea certified cruelty-free by any organizations? No, Nivea is not certified by any organizations.
DOES NIVEA TEST ON ANIMALS? Beiersdorf, the organisation behind the NIVEA brand, does not test on animals. As a global company, all our affiliates including Australia and New Zealand, are aligned on this stance. We believe animal testing is not required to prove the safety and effectiveness of our products.
No, the NIVEA MEN DEEP Active Clean Body Wash does not contain pork ingredients.
Nivea is NOT Cruelty-free.
Nivea pays and allows their products to be tested on animals when required by law. Nivea also sells its products in stores in mainland China where animal testing is mandatory for most imported cosmetics.
NIVEA uses parabens in around 30 per cent of its products, primarily in body care, sun protection and face care products. Like all ingredients used by NIVEA, parabens are added only where necessary.
The majority of Nivea products are vegetarian, however they do use glycerin – which we believe is all plant-based but double check. We haven't found and uses of cholestrol or other animal-fat based products, but please do double check.
Products in the NIVEA Pure and Natural range primarily use ingredients found in nature. We prepare them gently, so that they can achieve their optimal effect. The NIVEA Pure and Natural range is also free of parabens, silicones, colouring agents and mineral oil.
NIVEA uses approximately 30 different silicones, and about 20 percent of our products globally – mainly leave-on products, like face creams and lotions or deodorants, contain silicones.

Is Dove Cruelty-Free? Dove does not test any of its products or ingredients on animals or ask others to test on its behalf.
Yes, Burt's Bees is Cruelty-free! None of Burt's Bees ingredients, formulations, or finished products are tested on animals, anywhere in the world. Burt's Bees is also certified cruelty-free by Leaping Bunny.
We are committed to work toward the elimination of laboratory safety testing using animals. In 1999, we declared a voluntary moratorium on all animal testing of our adult Personal Care Products and the ingredients used in these products. This moratorium remains in effect worldwide.

Sustainable palm oil sourcing
Some of our ingredients in NIVEA products are derived from palm kernel oil – in fact, palm oil derivatives are used in 70 % of all cosmetics products.
Unfortunately, E45 is not cruelty-free. As a Reckitt Benckiser brand, their animal testing policy allows animal testing where there's legislative requirements.
Is Vaseline Vegan? Technically Vaseline is vegan. It uses no animal derived ingredients in any of its products.
