Hair morphology is one of the more conspicuous features of human variation and is particularly diverse among people of European ancestry, for which around 45% of individuals have straight hair, 40% have wavy hair, and 15% have curly hair.
Human hair comes with all sorts of colors, textures and shapes. Notably, African hair is more coiled and dry; Asian hair is straighter and thicker; and Caucasian hair is somewhere in between with around 45% having straight hair, 40% having wavy hair, and 15% having curly hair.
Hair type 1A is super-straight. It doesn't even hold a curl! 1A is the rarest hair type. It is usually found on people of Asian descent.

Wavy hair (Type 2) hair types are naturally wavy and form an “S” shape. It is thicker than Type 1 hair types, and can be considered a medium between straight and curly hair.

What Makes Hair Curly or Wavy? While you have your genes, humidity and a variety of other factors to thank for whether you have curly or straight hair, scientists have discovered that the shape of the follicle determines both the curvature of a strand and the angle in which it grows.
Best of both worlds.
While straight hair struggles with lack of volume, and curly hair struggles with trying to tame the frizz or care for curls, wavy hair gets the best of both worlds. Bounce, little volume and not too much need for care.
In terms of both male and female preferences, blonde was considered the next best choice after brunette hair. According to the study, 27 percent of males chose the blonde photo of the woman to be the most attractive, while 23 precent of women similarly preferred the blonde hair.

Wavy hair is not considered curly, despite the fact that it has a pronounced wave. It has neither a straight nor a curly appearance. It's just in the middle of straight and curly hair. While wavy hair is less susceptible to oil accumulation than straight hair, it is more liable to frizz.
The least common hair type, 1A hair is extremely fine and perfectly straight. Consequently, it can look a bit flat and limp and might prove difficult to style. Dry shampoo can be your ally in the fight against excessive oil and thick hair products that might weigh your hair down are best avoided.
Interestingly, wavy hair was judged more attractive than straight hair (p < 0.05).
We know it's tempting, but don't touch your waves! Touching your hair before the curls are formed and dry is just as damaging as brushing your hair and can cause friction and separate your natural curl pattern.
Contrary to popular belief, there's no real difference between straight hair and curly hair when it comes to hair loss. Since hair loss is primarily caused by hormonal, genetic, health or environmental factors, the type of hair you have doesn't significantly impact your risk of experiencing hair loss.
Wavy hair products to avoid

If your curly headed person actually had wavy hair, he or she would be a Cs. A wavy haired person can contribute either a C or an s gene. If paired to a straight haired person (ss), then the kids would either have straight (ss) or wavy hair (Cs).
Caucasian hair can be smooth, wavy or curly. Its colorimetry can vary from blond to dark brown. It grows obliquely, and grows about 1.2 centimeters per month. Caucasian hair has an oval shape.
It could be that neither of your parents have curly hair, but an ancestor did. Then the curly hair gene could have been passed down through generations and your parents are carrier of that gene, which manifested its trait in you!
Medium or Normal hair texture is the most common hair type and it is not as fragile as fine hair. It can feel silky to the touch when it is straight and in healthy condition. Medium textured hair tends to hold style well, but can be prone to damage from high heat styling tools.
