Light exercise while wearing Saniderm is fine, but avoid activity that causes excessive sweating. Just as water will weaken the adhesion of the bandage, so will sweat and any other significant amount of fluid. Try to keep the bandage as clean and dry as possible until it's time to remove it.
If you do exercise or workout with Saniderm and experience zero to minimal sweating, you should at least take a shower and rinse off. If you notice any peeling of the bandage whatsoever, remove it. Additionally, if the sweating was excessive and you feel contaminants may have entered, you should remove it.
You should avoid sweating with second skin on since sweat will not be able to escape the second skin and can lead to infection.
Healing Phase: If your tattoo is new (generally within the first two weeks), excessive sweating can potentially irritate the skin and affect the healing process. It may lead to more scabbing, increased risk of infection, or color fading.
SANIDERM METHOD
After Saniderm is applied, leave it on for 3 - 5 days. You can work, exercise, and shower as you would normally, but do not submerge the Saniderm underwater. After you take off the bandage, wash with hypoallergenic soap and apply small amounts of unscented moisturizer.
SANIDERM. Leave your Saniderm on for four full days after getting your tattoo. It is waterproof, so go ahead and shower as usual - however, please don't tempt fate with a bath or soaking. It is normal for your saniderm to fill with plasma, ink and blood.
Once your tattoo is dry, the skin around the area will begin to feel tight. This happens as your tattoo dries out, and it's a good indicator that it's time to apply moisturizer. Once again, we use and recommend Sanibalm for this. Rub it in gently until it's absorbed by the skin — be sure to apply a very thin layer.
Second Skin (also known as Tegaderm, Saniderm or Derma-Shield) is a breathable, waterproof, germ-proof barrier that covers your new tattoo. The bandage will protect your tattoo from contamination while also keeping any excess ink, or fluids from getting on clothes and sheets.
By using the body's natural repairing fluids to keep the wounded area in a hydrated state, Saniderm accelerates cell recovery and therefore heals your tattoo faster. Saniderm bandages are made from high-quality materials and are composed of three primary components.
Saniderm is both latex free and hypoallergenic, so allergic reactions are very rare. However, some people may have sensitive skin or allergies to adhesives. If you do experience a rash, abnormal skin irritation, or other symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue use and wash with mild soap.
If you have a healing layer like second skin or saniderm over your tattoo, the best option is to keep it on for the first night (or the first few if it stays put).

3) For the first few days, avoid any exercise that could lead to excessive sweating. This will help keep sweat from accumulating under the bandage.
SANIDERM AFTERCARE:
You can shower with the bandage but avoid soaking it or submerging it in water (no swimming or baths). If water gets under the bandage, remove it immediately and continue with the normal aftercare routine.
Saniderm's adhesive will not attach to the weeping area (the oozy part) of a tattoo, therefore it can never damage or pull out ink.
Provided the wearer does not have an allergy to adhesives, second skin is arguably the greatest game-changer in the tattoo industry, making the healing process faster, safer and more efficient!
Additionally, certain substances (particularly high alcohol content astringents) when left on the skin can cause the Saniderm bandage to adhere “too well.” This can make it painful to remove the bandage and leave behind sticky adhesive residue on the skin.
Healing With Saniderm
Alternatively, if the fluid that collected beneath your Saniderm has dried out or has become itchy or uncomfortable, it is perfectly okay to remove the bandage and begin washing/caring for your tattoo -- even if this happens before the 3-5 day mark!
Apply a thin film of "Aquaphor" as needed to keep moisturized for the next 3-4 days (1 day if Saniderm was used). Blot any excess amount! DO NOT overuse!
Your first night sleeping, your artist might recommend you re-wrap the tattoo with plastic wrap (like Saran Wrap) to sleep without the tattoo sticking to your sheets. This is generally for larger or solid-color tattoos. If your artist did not recommend re-wrapping, just let the tattoo stay exposed to air overnight.
Your body is going through a lot of stress during the process, which will make you sweaty just like any other stressful situation.
As with tipping waitstaff, 20-25% percent is a good standard. An easy way to include tipping in your budget is to add it in when getting the estimated costs for having your work done. So, if your tattoo is expected to cost $200, with a 20-percent tip, that's $240.
