Does God really care about our hair? Apostolic Pentecostals historically have taught that women should not cut their hair, and that men should keep their hair cut short. This teaching is based on 1 Corinthians 11:2-16, where the apostle Paul provides instruction on proper conduct in the church. Many modern Christians.

The practice of the Christian head covering for modesty is from Holy Oral Tradition; though, Saint Paul in 1 Corinthians 11:13-16 of Holy Scripture stated that a woman is to just have long hair for modesty.
Paul said, ``Women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess godliness -- with good works'' (1 Timothy 2:9--10).
1 Corinthians 11:2–6, teaches: "... keep the ordinances, as I delivered them to you. But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. Every man praying or prophesying, having his head covered, dishonoureth his head.
It is this type of false worship the Bible forbids. Shaving one's beard and cutting one's hair for normal good grooming is something entirely different and not at all condemned in the Scriptures. In fact, the apostle Paul takes great pains to address proper grooming of one's hair in I Corinthians 11:2-15.
The biblical text of 1 Corinthians 11:2–16 is clear. Every Christian man should uncover his head when he prays or prophesies because Christ is his head. Every Christian woman should cover her head when she prays or prophesies because the man is her head.

6 For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.
Paul then addresses the issue of men wearing long hair: “For a man indeed ought not to cover his head [wear long hair], since he is the image and glory of God” (verse 7). The basic message is that a man who wears long hair is appropriating the identifying female marker in God's family structure.
The long untouched hair was therefore considered as the emblem of personal devotion (or devotedness) to the God of all strength. Thus it was an easy step to the thought that in the hair was the seat of strength of a Samson (Judges 16:17,20).
Many spiritual and religious traditions view hair as a retainer of one's vital essence. Rastafarians consider hair their connection to God, calling their long dreadlocks “God antennae.” Sikhs allow their hair to grow naturally as a symbol of respect for the perfection of God's creation.
Women are anointed by God as the “helper.” Eve was created for the sake of Adam because Adam needed help from someone who, like him, also represented God on earth. Because of woman's anointing as helper, she carries a symbol of authority — hair.

Paul writes plainly, “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?” (1 Corinthians 11:14). All major Bible translations agree on the intent of this verse. God intended (and commanded) men to keep their hair much shorter than women.
Notice, however, that I Corinthians 11:15 does not read "uncut hair"; it reads "long hair." The Bible nowhere prohibits tasteful cutting, curling, styling, or setting of a woman's hair. Any length is appropriate if the hair is long enough to be a covering and feminine.
And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head--it is just as though her head were shaved. If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off; and if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head.
Like many questions of should Christians do something that falls outside a sin issue, ultimately it will come down to the personal conviction of the believer. In many countries, it is still considered modest, or sometimes even practical, for a woman to cover her head. In others, men cover their heads.
From the historical context and biblical expositions of our key passages in 1 Timothy 2:9-10 and 1 Peter 3:1-5 , it is clear that Paul and Peter did not make blanket statements that prohibit women from totally braiding or plaiting their hair.
Just like your skin, your hair needs protection from the harmful effects of the sun. This includes using UV-protecting products, wearing hats with Ultraviolet Protection Factor (UPF), and avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours.
The problem with answering “yes” or “no” about wearing a wig or “adding artificial hair” is that the Bible says nothing on the subject. In fact, “wig” isn't even in the Bible, and no references to “hair” have anything to do with artificial hair.
Christians – no matter which church they belong to – should follow Paul and extend it to the heterosexual-homosexual distinction. We are all “clothed in Christ” (3:27): God only sees Christ, not our different sexualities.
