Use the services in the following order: First, use the pool, then the whirlpool, then the saunas, and finally enjoy a massage.
You can have a dip in the pool, detox in the sauna, unwind in the relaxation room, or get your heart pumping in the gym* - it's completely up to you. You may be able to book additional spa treatments for later in the day, depending on the availability of staff and rooms.
Alcohol and smoking are not permitted. The Spa Team reserves the right to refuse access to anyone whose dress or behaviour may disturb or endanger other guests at the spa or surrounding areas. Robes and slippers are provided for use during your visit. It is advisable to wear undergarments beneath your bathrobe.
Avoid Heavy Meals and Alcohol Eating a heavy meal or consuming alcohol before a visit can make you feel uncomfortable and less able to enjoy your treatment. Opt for a light snack and stay hydrated with water or herbal tea. Refrain from Loud Conversations Spas are designed to be quiet and serene.
Most spas offer a wide range of treatments. However, be aware that if you book a package, you will be limited in your choice. For example, there may be set treatments included, or you may have a choice from a menu of options. The most common spa treatments are massages, manicures/pedicures and facials.
It's up to you. Women usually remove their bras to allow the massage therapist to work on the back and shoulder area without getting massage oil or lotion on the bra. If your problem area is your low back, hips, buttocks, or groin, tight-fitting or large underwear can sometimes get in the way of massage work.
Body treatments may include sauna, whirlpool, jet bath, steam room, massage, mud bath, salt scrub, seaweed body wraps, clay or herbal body masks, reflexology and waxing. Day spas also usually offer nail services, such as manicures, pedicures and paraffin treatments.
Whether you spend time in a pool, swim spa or hot tub, taking the time to rinse off or shower afterwards can benefit your skin, whether you find that it's being aggravated or not.
The answer largely depends on your personal preference and wellness goals. Some experts suggest starting with the sauna to induce a deep sweat and kickstart the detoxification process. Following this with a steam room session can then help to hydrate the skin and relax the muscles.
In a sauna, it's better to breathe through your nose than your mouth. This cools the air as it enters your body. Your nose is a good yardstick: If the air feels too hot, move to a lower seating level.
SWIM IN THE POOL FIRST
Taking a dip in the pool before you relax in the sauna could be exactly what helps you unwind. With your workout done, you're ready to rest your muscles. The sauna's penetrating heat has been shown to speed up the recovery process. This is especially true if your pool water is on the chilly side.
Ideally, you should aim to time your hot tub sessions to last between 15 and 30 minutes. Depending on the factors at play (i.e., water temperature), you might be able to extend your soak to 45 minutes. Keep in mind that you can always re-enter your hot tub later on!
Many spas provide robes and slippers for guests to wear during their visit. If the spa doesn't provide these items, ask if you should bring your own. It's best to avoid jewelry and makeup, as they may need to be removed during certain treatments.
Keep your distance, keep quiet, and do not disturb the peace and quiet of other guests in the sauna. When entering the sauna, leave your slippers at the entrance to the sauna. In the dry sauna, it is only allowed to sit or lie on a lounger with a towel covering the whole area under your body.
This depends on what treatments you have booked and the facilities you would like to use. In general, you should wear either swimwear or underwear. If your booked treatment requires full or partial nudity, you will be given time to undress before the treatment starts.
For afull body massage, most people undress to theirunderwear or go nude, depending on theircomfort level, and themassage therapist keeps you covered with a drape. Arrive inloose-fitting clothing to easily slip off before relaxing on themassage table at the spa.
