How often you shave depends on your genetics and your preferred end result. In general, we recommend shaving every two to three days if you want a clean shave; three to five days if you want to simply style or trim; and if you want to just let your hair grow, then simply stop shaving.
You probably don't need to shave every day. Razors don't just cut off your hair, they take a layer of skin cells with it every time you run the blade across your skin. Unless you're looking to achieve a completely hairless look, you can skip at least a day or two between shaving sessions to allow your skin to heal.
How long do shaved legs last? When you shave, it only removes the hair at the very surface so it can grow back relatively quickly depending on the person. On average, if you want to keep your legs smooth, you may need to shave every 2-3 days.

When it comes to how to shave your legs, the AAD advises shaving in the direction that your hair grows. Going against the grain tugs the hair and can lead to increased risk of ingrown hairs, nicks and irritation.
-The majority of women shave 1-2 times each week, but 11% of women shave every day.
Some women don't feel the need to because the hairs on their thighs are finer and thinner than those on the lower half of their leg. But it's not a crime to do it.

Rinse your legs. Once you've shaved all the hair on your legs, rinse off and run your hands over them to make sure you didn't miss any spots. (The backs of ankles and tops of knees are often easy to miss.) If you find any lingering stubble, reapply shaving cream to the spots with hair.

Using shaving products that contain artificial scents and harsh chemicals, such as alcohol, can irritate the skin and contribute to itchiness.

When the space fills up in the follicle it pushes older cells out and that is what becomes the leg hair. After the older cells become hard and leave the follicle, they form a hair shaft. The hair shaft is mostly made up of dead tissue and a protein that is known as keratin.
Armpit hair prevents skin-to-skin contact when doing certain activities, such as running and walking. The same thing happens with pubic hair, as it reduces friction during sex and other activities.
It is more hygienic not to shave it (although depilation does make pubic lice homeless). In removing their pubic hair, most women will get cuts or ingrown hairs, and some will develop inflammation of the hair follicles or hyperpigmentation.
Bodybuilders also shave their legs as this will give the appearance of larger more defined muscular development and definition.
