For removing lip lines, you'll need about 6 average units. If you're interested in having lip flips, you'll need around 4-6 units. If you aim for plumper lips, Botox is best paired with dermal fillers.
Depending on the injection site and amount of dermal filler, most HA fillers last from 6 – 12 months on average. Regardless of which dermal filler you use, two or three syringes are almost always recommended in order to achieve the most gorgeous outcomes.
For example, Juvederm Ultra and Ultra Plus are both available in 1ml syringes that contain 24mg of hyaluronic acid. This equates to approximately 24 units of lip filler. However, other types of lip filler (such as Restylane and Perlane) are available in larger syringes that contain 50 units of lip filler.

Based on your individual goals and dreams for your skin, our experienced team will let you know exactly how much Botox or filler you'll be purchasing. There are 100 units of Botox per vial and 300 units of Dysport per vial. There is 1.0 cc of Juvederm® per syringe, and 0.8 cc of Restylane® per syringe.
They indicate that dermal injections last for 6 months and that 1mL of dermal lip injections should be used for the lips. However, it is our philosophy that injecting 1ml of filler in patients' lip area every 6 months is excessive.
The Results Improve Over Time
Because these injections stimulate your body's production of collagen and elastin, the final results of treatment won't be seen for several weeks. Even as the hyaluronic acid is processed by your body, healthy collagen and elastin grow at a more significant rate.
Generally, the pictures of the larger lips are not first-timers, they have had several appointments and built the filler up over time so this won't happen on your first treatment but 1ml will give you a noticeably different.
“When you repeatedly enlarge the lips — pumping them up as big as possible — the filler can act as a tissue expander, permanently stretching the skin, and causing the lips to sag and deflate when the filler eventually degrades, leaving you in worse shape than when you started,” she explains.
I would always recommend at least 6 months between injection of different fillers. After we have established the above, the same rationale as mentioned in point 1 would apply here. Fillers usually last around 6-12 months.
Conversely, for those patients who want a subtle change, with hydrated/rejuvenated and slightly defined lips, 0.5ml overall is the right amount. But, if you want an instant plump of the lips and a fuller look, 1ml of lip filler is the best choice.
Most filler syringes contain 1.0 ml (milliliters or cc) of product. This includes products such as Restylane and Juvéderm–which also includes Voluma, Vollure, Ultra, and Volbella. Some fillers do come in larger (e.g., Radiesse-1.5 ml) or smaller sizes but let's discuss the vastly more commonly used 1.0 ml syringes.

Number of syringes varies from patient to patient but in our office and experience, the majority of patients doing lip injections only need 1 syringe to achieve the results they are looking for.
One syringe of filler you can expect slightly plumper lips with a smoother appearance. We use fillers like Restylane and Juvederm to create natural looking and feeling lips enhancement. Two syringes of dermal filler will get clients noticeably smoother and plumper and for some clients a true volume change.
It typically takes about 4 weeks for the filler to settle in and achieve the final, desired look. The results will typically last about 6 months.
Lip fillers aren't permanent. They slowly wear away over time, usually 12 to 18 months after you get them, depending on your metabolism. You may need routine touch-up treatments to maintain your desired volume.

The longevity of filler depends on many factors, like the type and amount, but, mostly, metabolic rate. Metabolism affects just how long filler lasts in each of our bodies, which is why your friend's lip filler might last longer than yours, or vice versa.
Your metabolism determines how long your lip filler will last. The same bodily mechanism that regulates how quickly you metabolize calories determines how fast your filler will break down. In short: if you have a fast metabolism, your lip filler will likely break down more quickly.
Answer: This may be due to diminished swelling.
Keep in mind that swelling is a common side effect immediately following lip injections, so it is possible that what you're seeing is that swelling beginning to diminish.
