The process of Nano Brows is only considered to be complete once your skin has healed following the touch up appointment. HOW LONG WILL IT LAST? Your Nano brows will generally last between 12-24 months, however like with many procedures, there are a few factors that will prolong or shorten the expected durability.
Shape: Artists must perfect their ability to create the perfect eyebrow shape. Nano Brows are relatively permanent, so a bad shape will stick around for a long time. Expensive: To some, the upfront cost of nano brows can be daunting.
The Microblading or Nano Brows portion gradually fades over time, but often, some remnants of ink residue remain visible. These remnants typically appear not as crisp, hair-like strokes, but more like a shadow. After undergoing treatment several times, the skin may become saturated with pigment.
Longevity and Precision: Nano brows often yield more precise and long-lasting results because the pigment is deposited more evenly and deeper into the skin than microblading. The fine, hair-like strokes tend to blur less over time.
How Much Do Nano Brows Cost? It's certainly not cheap. The treatment starts at $1,050, as compared to $650 for microblading. The time commitment aligns with the cost: nano brows can take two-and-a-half to three hours, while microblading takes one-and-a-half to two hours.
Individuals with health conditions that affect healing and immune response, such as diabetes, autoimmune diseases, or those with HIV, may find nano brows risky. These conditions can slow healing and increase the likelihood of infection.
Avoid showering for the first 12-24 hours. After this time has passed, when showering or bathing during the healing period apply a thick layer of aftercare balm to create a barrier and avoid putting the procedure area directly in the water stream during the healing period.
Nano brows are one of the most advanced and natural-looking permanent eyebrow enhancement techniques available today. Unlike microblading, which uses a manual blade, nano brows are applied with a digital tattoo machine, allowing for finer, more precise strokes that resemble natural hairs more closely and last longer.
Does it hurt? Expect there to be some discomfort involved, although it is quite minimal. Nano Brows are done all by a specialized machine and a very fine single needle and is much less painful than microblading (which is done buy making small cuts in the skin).
Exposing Brows to Water
Water can interfere with the pigment settling process. Avoid swimming, saunas, and heavy sweating activities during the initial healing phase to ensure optimal results.
It is common to experience the “ghosting stage”. This is when a layer of skin grows over your “tattoo” and your brows seem to be completely faded. This usually lasts a week or so until your skin regenerates and the pigment reappears. Your brows should appear 30% lighter, and with a soft powdery finish.
Let's get straight to the point. It's completely normal for ombre brows to disappear after a week due to the natural healing process known as the ghosting phase. As your skin heals, scabs form and fall off, temporarily obscuring the pigment. This phase usually lasts a few days to a couple of weeks.
If you accidentally ruin your microblading, it's best to reach out to your microblading artist or a professional immediately for advice on how to address the issue.
"It may be wise to avoid nanoblading if you tend to develop hypertrophic or keloid scars as nanoblading creates trauma in the skin," says Dr. Murphy-Rose. "People with a history of eczema, psoriasis, or other skin conditions should consult their dermatologist before proceeding," adds Dr. Garshick.
Generally, Nano Brows tend to be more expensive due to the difficulty in mastering the technique and the fact that it is a newer procedure with fewer artists proficient in it. A touch-up session is typically required 6-8 weeks after the initial procedure to perfect the results and ensure proper pigment retention.
Tips to Make Your Nano Brows Last Longer
Avoid Excessive Sun Exposure:Protect your brows from direct sunlight. Use a hat or apply sunscreen to the brow area once they are fully healed. Use Gentle Skincare Products:Choose gentle, non-abrasive cleansers and avoid using strong chemicals near your brows.
While both techniques offer semi-permanent results, microblading typically lasts longer, ranging from 2-5 years, whereas machine nano brows may require more frequent touch-ups due to its finer strokes, lasting around 1-3 years on average.
While the stages of the healing process are typically the same for nano brows as they are for microblading, the duration of the healing process for nano brows tends to be shorter for many individuals. During the initial healing period of up 14 days, your eyebrows will go through several stages of healing.
This is where laser treatment comes into play, offering a safe and effective method for reversing the effects of semi-permanent makeup. Laser treatment for microblading and nanobrows removal involves the use of advanced laser technology to break down and gradually fade the pigment embedded in the skin.
Benefits of Nano Brows
Perfect for those with oily skin, as it lasts longer than microblading. Creates natural, hair-like strokes for a realistic look. Ideal for filling in sparse or thinning brows. Requires less maintenance than traditional cosmetic tattoos.
Following the nano treatment the healing is astounding. Even after years there is no blue, grey or orange tones emerging – which are common issues with microblading. Touch-ups with nano brows are not traumatic and damaging to the skin. You only need to come back every 3 years.
Redness and Swelling: Immediate After Effects
It's perfectly normal to experience some redness and swelling around your eyebrows right after the procedure. The skin in this area is sensitive and reacts to the microneedling process. These effects should subside within a few hours to a day.
Every 1.5 years is the typical time to come in for a touch up. At 1.5 years, the brows usually still look great, however the color needs to be freshened. Some clients with great retention wait 2 to 2.5 years! Nano strokes fade at different rates on each client.
Even after the treatment, your client should be advised to avoid alcohol - for mostly the same reasons as above, like excess bleeding and lymph fluids disrupting the healing process and causing greater risk of infection.
