Although it's most commonly used on lips – in the form of Vaseline – as an occlusive, meaning it helps skin retain moisture, it also effectively melts away waterproof mascara. It's literally a case of coating lashes with it, wait around five minutes and then remove with a cotton pad.
Not only can you use Vaseline before applying eye shadow, but you can also use the jelly to remove it — and eyeliner and mascara — in one of the gentlest ways available. "It's light and lubricated, so the makeup slides right off without harming the skin," dermatologist Mona Gohara told Allure.
Vaseline is an occlusive moisturizer that can be used effectively on dry skin and eyelashes. It can't make eyelashes grow faster or longer, but it can moisturize them, making them look fuller and lusher.
As such, the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) warn that people who are prone to acne may experience breakouts after applying Vaseline to the face. However, according to Vaseline's company website, Vaseline is noncomedogenic, meaning that it will not clog or block pores.
Soak a cotton pad or Q-tip with the eye makeup remover and gently press it on your eyelid, allowing it to rest there for thirty seconds and soak up your makeup. Next, swipe the cotton pad downwards in the direction of your eyelashes, moving gently to not irritate the eyes (and never scrubbing or rubbing at your eyes).
6. Not everyday is a waterproof day. Waterproof mascara is ideal for summer months or when you know you're going to be sweaty, but using it everyday isn't advisable. Milk is another good choice for removing eye mascara, especially for those with sensitive skin. Gentle on the eyes, yet a fast-acting alternative to expensive products, it is every woman's best friend. Apply some milk to a cotton ball and swipe over the eyes. Rinse well with warm water.
Take a drop or two of olive oil on a cotton ball and paper towel. Rub this cotton ball on your lashes in a downward direction. You would see every last speck of your mascara come out on the cotton ball. It works as magic.

The ingredients used in mainstream brand waterproof mascara are much stronger and even harsher than those in regular mascara. These ingredients damage your eyelashes and cause them to become very dry and very brittle. And this leads to fallout and loss of some of your beautiful eyelashes.
4. You only use waterproof mascara. Waterproof mascara is a great tool to have in your beauty arsenal, but it's not an everyday solution. The same ingredients used to make this type of mascara last longer can dry out your lashes, making them more brittle (and apt to break).

Unfortunately, there's little to no evidence that any of the ingredients in Vaseline, which is a brand name for petroleum jelly, can grow thicker or fuller eyebrows. However, Vaseline is very moisturizing and may actually help eyebrows look fuller and thick, even if they're actually growing at the same rate.
There's no scientific evidence to support the popular claim that Vaseline makes your hair grow faster. It might protect your hair against breakage and dryness, but it won't encourage your hair to grow at a faster rate.
All of your makeup should come off before you go to sleep, especially anything sticking to your eyelashes. "Your eyelashes need to be clean because they are protecting the eyes ... they are nourished by oil glands and if those glands or the follicles are clogged, that can be a problem," Taylor said.

You may not want to part with your favorite tube of mascara, but we hate to inform you that it has the earliest expiration date when it comes to makeup. Mascara lasts around three to six months, and shouldn't be kept around for longer.
