The results from Botox last anywhere between 2-6 months; the average result lasts about 3-4 months. Why does Botox eventually stop working? Your body makes new neurotransmitters all the time, so the “blocking” effect of Botox gradually wears off as these chemicals start circulating in your body again.
If you do receive too much Botox and your face doesn't move, you'll just have to wait for it to wear off. Unfortunately, there's no quick fix!
How much Botox is permissible on the forehead? Botox comes in dosages between 50 and 100 units per vial. Some practitioners say they inject an average of 10 to 30 units into the forehead. Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox Cosmetic, suggests a dosage of 4 units each in five sites on the forehead, totaling 20 units.
The effects of Botox are temporary and will gradually wear off within 4 months. If you choose not to have further Botox treatments your muscles will eventually return to normal activity and your facial lines will revert to their pre treatment state. Unfortunately, there is no way to make the Botox wear off any faster.

Between 10 to 50 Units of botox
A forehead botox injection can require between 10 to 50 units needed in the forehead depending on the severity of your wrinkles. Allergan, the manufacturer of Botox suggests the amount of units that's recommended in the “five” sites of the forehead is 4 units.
40 units is not a “large” dose for glabella, forehead, and crows feet but i'd say it's pretty typical. I have many patients that do more without looking frozen.
Why Does Botox Make Your Forehead Shiny? Light naturally reflects off of smooth surfaces, so the smoother your skin, the more light will bounce. Botox injections smooth the skin, which can cause it to appear shinier, especially if it is overdone.
The result will last 3 to 4 months. Unfortunately, massaging will not effect or speed up this process.
When Botox is applied to problem areas around the eyebrows, the muscles relax and the skin on top of them becomes smoother. The muscles around the eyebrows are pulled upwards, elevating the eyebrows and making a patient's eyes appear more open.
“If you do too much Botox on your forehead for many, many years, the muscles will get weaker and flatter,” cautions Wexler, adding that the skin can also appear thinner and looser. Moreover, as your muscles become weaker, they can start to recruit surrounding muscles when you make facial expressions.
Over the next two to three weeks, any swelling and bruising should disappear, and you'll notice the reduced appearance of wrinkles and facial lines. Botox can help smooth out wrinkles, smile, and facial lines that you don't like.
There's a common misconception that Botox makes you look older when it wears off. On the contrary, regular Botox treatments make you look younger even after the neurotoxin wears off.
...But Too Much, Too Fast Will Age You
"If you do too much Botox on your forehead for many, many years, the muscles will get weaker and flatter," cautions Wexler, adding that the skin can also appear thinner and looser.
Forehead lines / horizontal lines: 10-30 units. Frown lines: 10-25 units. Glabellar lines (between the eyes): 10-25 units. Jaw area (masseter): 15-50 units per side.
If you only had the crows feet and forehead areas treated, the 70 units would appear to be excessive. However, if you had the glabella of the lower forehead treated as well, it would not be unusual to have recieved 70 units for all 3 areas.
An average Botox procedure uses about 50 units at a time, with the maximum safe amount being 100 units. Typically, you can expect more Botox units if you want to target more dynamic wrinkles like frown lines, forehead lines, or smile lines.
Getting Botox under the eyes is sometimes referred to as getting “jelly roll” Botox. The “jelly roll” refers to a slight bulge of muscle that appears under the eyes in some people when they squint or smile. Botox works by relaxing this muscle, thus producing a smoother skin surface and no bulge.
Usually, in one sitting you may receive even 40 to 60 units of Botox. Again, this will depend on your circumstances, but generally speaking 60 units is a pretty average amount to receive, especially if you are just starting out. Let's understand this with an example.
