Moisturize your lips overnight
Especially post-exfoliation, slather on a thick lip balm or petroleum jelly to absorb into your lips overnight. Add this simple extra step into your nighttime skincare routine to ensure your lips are super smooth in the morning.
Wet a soft toothbrush with a little warm water (and optional, moisturizing oil, such as coconut oil), and very gently brush your lips until they feel smooth and soft. Create a sweet mix of sugar and water. Rub this mixture on your lips until they feel soft and you can gently scrub off the dead, dry skin.
Make a lip plumper at home with olive oil and chili powder.
In a small bowl, mix 1 tablespoon (15 mL) of olive oil with a few sprinkles of chili powder, no more than 1 teaspoon (4.9 mL). Lightly rub the mixture on your lips. Leave it on your lips for 1 to 5 minutes before wiping it off with a paper towel.
Benefits of coconut oil for lips
The primary benefit of coconut oil is its moisturizing effects. This makes it ideal for chapped lips. Your lips are particularly sensitive to moisture loss because the skin is thin, and they're exposed to the elements more so than other parts of your skin.
Drink plenty of water
Keeping hydrated is one of the most obvious but forgotten about elements when it comes to keeping our lips soft and smooth.
It will leave your lips feeling tender, soft and full. Icing your lips temporarily will compress your blood vessels to make them look red and plump. Massaging an ice cube on your lips for 2 minutes will give you instant results.
Use Aloe Vera And Honey
Take one tablespoon of freshly extracted aloe vera gel from a plant and mix it with honey. Apply it on your lips. Leave it for 15 minutes and wash it with water to see instant results. Both aloe Vera and honey add hydration to your lips, thus making it soft and pink.
Gently brushing your lips with a toothbrush may help you get rid of dry skin and give your lips a smoother appearance. However, over-exfoliating can irritate the delicate skin over your lip. It's a good idea to brush your lips no more than once a week to avoid irritation.
USE A MINTY TOOTHPASTE
The toothpaste you use everyday can help you achieve plumper lips. Using your finger, apply a small amount on your lips, as if you're putting a lipstick.
Cold, dry weather, sun damage, and frequently licking your lips are just some of the reasons your lips might feel dry and chapped. To prevent and treat dry, chapped lips at home, follow these tips from board-certified dermatologists.
Licking your lips is a detrimental habit that makes your lips and the area around your mouth darker. Saliva contains enzymes that help break down food, and when you repeatedly lick lips, it can irritate the thin, delicate skin, causing it to become darker in colour.
Causes of dark lips
excessive exposure to the sun. lack of hydration. cigarette smoking. allergic reactions to toothpaste, lipstick, etc.
Maintain eye contact before the kiss.
Seeing each other will help you both remember that you're going to enjoy sharing this moment with one another. Eye contact also lets your partner know that you are attentive and interested, which can help them feel more comfortable.
Rubbing ice cubes on your lips will hydrate them and reduce inflammation. Follow up with a lip balm or moisturiser and you will have chapped lips no more!
Chronic lip biting can cause swelling, rawness and sores. Repeatedly biting the same area can even cause fibromas to develop.
What's in a pout? Well, quite a lot, as it turns out that full and sumptuous lips are the most preferable lip shape of them all — but according to a global study, there's one key trait that distinguishes the perfect pouts from their equally plump, yet sub-par, counterparts.
