Pores don't open and close
You've likely heard that ice water will tighten pores. But, “that just flushes the skin and constricts blood vessels, temporarily constricting the appearance of pores,” says Chiu.
All pores in the skin are open. Due to their appearance, large pores or visible pores are referred to as “open pores.” Pores can't be closed.
Laser Treatments
Several treatments are available at Dermatology and Laser Centre. Fractional ablative laser skin resurfacing decreases the appearance of pores and acne scars. For enlarged pores, Dr. Gallacher uses the Vbeam laser as well as fractionated CO2 lasers.
A blackhead hole will never go away on its own as the dirt buildup stretches and enlarges it. What you can do is clean it with salicylic acid, reduce inflammation using retinoids, and heal the skin and tighten it with a non-comedogenic moisturizer.
How do you get rid of deep blackheads? Deep blackheads should be removed by a medical professional — usually a dermatologist or medical aesthetician. They use a small tool with rigid metal loops on the ends (blackhead or comedo extractor) to apply even pressure to your blackheads.
While cellophane tape could possibly remove surface dead skin cells, it's unclear how effective this method is in removing clogged gunk in your pores. Don't use masking, duct, industrial, or any other type of tape that could be harmful to your skin.
The coarse texture of Epsom salt may help exfoliate skin by removing dead skin cells and loosening blackheads. Mix Epsom salt with an oil, such as olive oil or almond oil, to form a loose paste. Gently apply the mixture as an allover facemask, or, use only on acne-prone areas.
Youn coins it as more of "a trick that is a nice option for people who are in a pinch," he does say it has its place. "Although it doesn't work for everyone, many people find that spreading a small amount of Elmer's glue on your nose, letting it dry, and peeling it off can remove oil and blackheads," he says.
“Gently press on each side of the blackhead until it begins to release,” she says. “Apply slow and even pressure, and once you are able, lightly pinch the tweezers and pull the blacked out material from the skin to extract it. If the blackhead does not release easily, do not continue to attempt the extraction.”

A dilated pore of Winer forms similar to a blackhead pimple, where dead skin cells clog the pore (hair follicle). As a result, the dead skin cells in the pore create a protein (sebum and keratin) that collects and plugs up the pore, causing the pore to enlarge (dilate).
Your pores can become clogged for a number of reasons – excess oil resulting from hormonal changes, dry skin, a buildup of dead skin cells, or dirt and oil becoming stuck beneath the surface. When the skin closes over the top of a clogged pore, you get a pimple – aka a closed comedone.
Unfortunately, however, there are no permanent and comprehensive fixes to said issue of blackhead pores/holes. But you can minimize the appearance of these pesky pits by tightening your pores and using techniques to prevent the holes from clogging again.
When you have blackheads, these large pores become clogged with a substance known as sebum. A chemical reaction with the sebum occurs under your skin. Melanin is oxidized and turns the clogged pores a black color.
Chemical peels are great for reducing the size of your pores when the root cause is dirt and debris. Peels can promote cellular turnover and remove the debris, dead skin cells and blackheads that make your pores appear larger than they are.
The Halo laser treatment is an excellent option for those who have large pores and want to diminish them. Having larger pores can make you feel uncomfortable and a bit self-conscious.
A sebum plug can look like a tiny bump under the surface of the skin or it may stick out through the skin like a grain of sand. When a sebum plug forms, bacteria that normally lives harmlessly on the surface of your skin can start to grow within the follicle.
Use an extractor tool
Press the loop face down on the edge of the blackhead you're trying to remove. Just avoid pressing directly down in the middle of the blackhead, as this can irritate your pore. Once you've got the head of the tool in place, make a gentle sweeping motion to the other side of your pore.
Hydrogen peroxide can be used to effectively treat blackheads and whiteheads. They occur when the pores on the skin are clogged with excessive oil. Hydrogen peroxide dissolves the blackheads and treats the area. Combine equal amount of 3% hydrogen peroxide and water.
