Use shower eyeshield: Different shower visors are available in the market that are specifically used to protect areas around the brows after microblading. Furthermore, there is also the option of sun visor hats. Before trying any of these tools, make sure they are tight-fitted and can protect your eyebrows from water.
Protective Barrier: Before swimming, consider applying a protective, water-resistant ointment or barrier cream to your eyebrows. This can serve as an additional layer of protection against water and its constituents. However, always seek guidance from your microblading professional before using any product.
Apply A & D ointment or petroleum jelly and put a small strip of Saran wrap/ plastic wrap over it. Works well.
During the first few days after microblading, keeping your eyebrows dry is crucial. You can use a shower cap or a protective film over your eyebrows to prevent water from directly touching them.
Water exposure, especially during the critical healing phase, can affect the pigmentation and final outcome of your brows. While brief or accidental contact with water may not cause significant harm, prolonged exposure can lead to fading, uneven results, and the need for additional touch-ups.
Shower eye shields will protect your eyebrows from getting wet. If you don't have these on hand you can also put on a shower cap and cover your eyebrows.
Avoid getting the area wet for the first 24 hours after microblading. Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment, such as Aquaphor, to keep the area moisturized.
What Happens if I Don't Wash My Brows After Microblading? The wound needs to be cleaned. Not cleansing your brows and leaving the fluid dry will cause a crust to form. Some scabbing is normal, but not cleaning off the lymph and leaving the brows dry can lead to excessive scabbing.
Sweat. For the same reason that water should be avoided during the healing/scabbing process after microblading, sweat should also be avoided. Sweat comes from the inside of the skin and can push the pigment out and cause the microblading strokes not to retain.
Use Shower Eye Shields
These shields help cover your brows and prevent water from coming into contact with them while you shower.
Keep the area MOISTURIZED. Use Aftercare as an after care anti-oxidant (or Vaseline). Gently apply every 1-2 hours or when you feel tender, itchy or dry for 10–14 days. This provides pain relief, moisturizes and promotes healing to help retain color.
After microblading, it is recommended that the skin should not be exposed to water for two weeks at least. This means no swimming! Why so? If the skin comes into contact with water, the pigment might have difficulty absorbing properly into the skin.
Wait for Fading: Microblading is semi-permanent and will fade over time. If you are unhappy with the shape, it may be worth waiting for the brows to lighten naturally. Correction or Removal: A corrective procedure may sometimes be possible during the touch-up session.
The dry healing method of Microblading aftercare involves keeping the area dry from water, especially during showering or bathing. The area is carefully washed and dried twice a day but no aftercare cream or balm is applied during the healing period.
The worst days after microblading are typically the first two, when you'll likely experience puffiness, redness, and tenderness.
Around days eight or nine of the healing process, your brows may take on a spooky appearance, appearing faded, gray, or even patchy. This is known as the microblading ghosting phase. The fading is a regular and temporary part of the healing process. Your bold, beautiful brows will make their triumphant return.

The best way to get waterproof brows is by using waterproof brow products, like waterproof pencils, pens, or brow mascaras. If all your brow products aren't waterproof, that's okay, though. You can do your brows as usual and simply finish your look with a coat (or two) of The Brow Glue Instant Brow Styler.
Accidentally getting your eyebrows wet can cause several issues, including: Pigment dilution: Water dilutes the pigment, leading to premature fading. Scabbing: Water may cause scabbing, which could flake off, removing the pigment along with it.
For about 2 to 10 days following your microblading service, make sure to wash your eyebrows gently (patting motion, not rubbing) each morning and night with water and an antibacterial soap such as Dial or a Cetaphil Cleanser. With a very light touch, use your fingertips to gently cleanse the eyebrows.
Usually 10 days.) —Clients still need to keep dry in the shower... steamy hot showers will cause the pores to open and scabs to soften, so to be cautious, no steamy hot showers!! Avoid the water ESPECIALLY shampoo and conditioner running down.. that'll cause color discoloration!
Aquaphor Healing Ointment
Alternatively, you can use a different healing ointment like Aquaphor. It's important to make sure there are no added antibiotics or harsh ingredients that can break down pigment in your brows.
