Using a lighter color to fill in your brows, then using a slightly darker color to add definition. Filling in sparse patches with a powder, then using a pencil to add definition. Using a pencil or powder to define and fill in your brows, then applying eyebrow mascara to hold your brows in place and create fullness.
You can easily obtain hydrogen peroxide at the grocery store or drugstore. Apply it with a cotton swab and leave it on your brows for a couple of minutes before rinsing. Chamomile tea: An equal mixture of chamomile tea and lemon juice is a natural solution for lightening brows.
Kicked off by user @spaghetti4000, the trick to trialling the bleached brow look is actually super easy. Simply take your concealer or full-coverage foundation and brush it through your brows to your heart's content. Finish off with some setting powder or pale eyeshadow and you're good to go.
First, take a nude pot eyeliner or primer, like the NYX Professional Makeup Eyeshadow Base in Skin Tone and brush it evenly through your brows with a spoolie until fully saturated. To lighten up any remaining hairs, take a blonde root spray and gently paint over the spots with an angled brush.
"Brow bleaching is ideal for someone who has healthy eyebrow hairs because any type of hair bleaching can be drying," Ninh says. Bleaching is best for virgin brow hair, i.e., hair that hasn't been processed. "I wouldn't recommend bleaching your eyebrows if you've had them laminated," Sumstad suggests.
It's essentially the same concept as bleaching dark brown hair — you enter the salon a brunette and exit as a golden blonde. Using hair bleach can remove the natural color in your brow by lifting your natural color from your hairs, turning them lighter.
You'll need a concealer (or highlighter), a powder, and a lighter-shade brow pencil than you typically use. “Use concealer to block out the brows so you can visualize what you would look like with little-to-no brow,” he says.
Want to try eyebrow tinting at home? All you need is 5 to 10 minutes. You'll need a timer, petroleum jelly, cotton swabs, mild shampoo, and the Just for Men Brush-In Color Gel for Mustache & Beard, which comes with dye, developer, a brush, gloves, and a mini tray.
First things first: do not use permanent hair dye! Permanent hair dyes are too aggressive for the sensitive skin on your face and could potentially singe your eyebrow hairs right off. Do not use these for your fragile brows.
Permanent hair dye should not be used, as it is too strong for your facial skin and it may singe off your eyebrows. Moreover, it will damage your eyes if you accidentally get some in them. Instead, use beard dyes, semi-permanent hair dyes or demi-permanent eyebrow dyes.
If You Have Blonde Hair…
You have the flexibility to either darken or lighten your brows depending on your skin tone and how light you're going with your hair color. “We prefer our blondes to color their brows up to one shade darker,” says Hack.
“What many women don't realise is bleaching can make the brow hair brittle and even fall out. So when the brow hair grows back, it often won't grow back the same and in some cases it won't grow back at all.”
Use 3% hydrogen peroxide to permanently lighten your brows.
Leave it on your eyebrows for anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes, then wipe off with a wet washcloth. Since hydrogen peroxide is clear, you can watch your brows lightening so you'll know when to wipe it off.
Leave on for 8 minutes. When the bleaching is done, remove cream with a damp towel. If you have deep brows like my Frankenstein ones, the resulting color will be strawberry blonde. I prefer to go a step lighter, so I wait 5 minutes and reapply.
Cut lemon in half 3. Squeeze juice into small cup 4. Dip two cotton pads in the juice and apply to eyebrows 5. Hold cotton pads on eyebrows and keep checking for desired brightness 6.
Eyebrow Tint With Coffee
Mix 2 tablespoons of coffee grounds, 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of honey. to prepare a smooth and thick paste. Allow the mixture to sit for a few minutes and then apply.
Start at the front of your brow (the hair is denser there) and simply dab on the dye all the way through to the end of your brow. I concentrate on the center of my eyebrow first and then get all of the little (white blonde, in my case) baby hairs along the edges. Once you've done one eyebrow—saturating every hair—stop.
Does tinting your eyebrows damage them? Usually, no. Eyebrow tinting is relatively safe, as long as there are no harmful chemicals used in the dye.
While you can use hair gel as brow gel, it's not the most ideal swap. Rather, try using a gentle soap and water for a simple yet effective trick. And if you come across a clean balm lying around, that'll do for an on-the-go option. Great alternatives for those of us blowing through our brow gels.
