You are the right weight for your height if you weigh between 136 and 178 pounds and your BMI is between 18.5 and 24.9. You are overweight if you weigh between 179 and 214 pounds and your BMI is between 25 and 29.9. You are obese if you weigh 215 pounds or more and your BMI is 30 or greater.
Chubby is a more informal term that's used to describe someone with a little extra padding, but not excessively so. It's sort of a softer, less harsh way of saying someone is slightly overweight. Fat, however, is a broader term that can mean different things in different contexts.
If your waist circumference is more than 80 cms in women and more than 90 cms in men, you meet the criteria for skinny fat. People who want to be thin and healthy need to increase their muscle mass and reduce their fat mass.
You might weigh more without looking fat due to factors such as muscle mass, bone density, and body composition. Muscle is denser than fat, so if you have a higher muscle-to-fat ratio, you can weigh more without appearing overweight.
Body mass index (BMI)
below 18.5 – you're in the underweight range. 18.5 to 24.9 – you're in the healthy weight range. 25 to 29.9 – you're in the overweight range. 30 to 39.9 – you're in the obese range.
To determine your body shape accurately, measure your bust, waist, and hips. Then, compare these to the typical characteristics of body shapes: Hourglass: Balanced bust and hips with a significantly narrower waist. Pear (Triangle): Hips wider than the bust with a well-defined waist.
Fat is Not a Feeling
The physical fat stored in our bodies is not an emotion and therefore is not something that we can 'feel'. 'Feeling fat' is descriptive and a narrative that we share with ourselves or others to describe a (usually) negative state of being.
Causes of a High Waist Circumference
A larger waist circumference is often caused by intra-abdominal visceral fat. Visceral fat is fat that develops between and around internal organs. This type of fat differs from "regular" fat that sits just beneath the skin and can be pinched.
One is that belly fat doesn't greatly increase as a result of one meal or even a day's worth of meals. Bloating, on the other hand, can happen rapidly and resolve just as quickly. Another way to tell the difference is that if you can physically grab the bulge you see, it's belly fat. You can't grasp your bloated belly.
Chubby cheeks are a type of facial feature that is characterized by having more flesh on the face than normal. This can make the face look rounder and fuller. As you age, the chubby cheeks may transform into sagging tissue close to the chin, jaw, and cheeks.
Overweight is another, sometimes more polite, way of saying fat. Overweight focuses on how much a person weighs, but also implies that the person weighs more than what is considered average for unhealthy reasons.
Steady weight loss is considered 1–2 pounds a week, so losing 10 pounds may take 5–10 weeks or more. However, weight loss is not always consistent and people's experiences differ. Losing weight too fast may be unsafe.
A waist size of about 32 inches or more indicates that you have an increased risk of health problems. A waist size of about 35 inches or more indicates that you have a high risk of health problems.
What does “skinny fat” look like? Phenotypically, they look lean and healthy, but when we check them out they have high levels of body fat and inflammation. This ectomorph body build has hidden high levels of body fat. They appear thin and flabby.
Estrogen is one of the leading hormonal causes of thigh fat because it causes increased levels of fat cells which cause fat deposits to form in and around the thighs. Age can also be a contributing factor because aging results in a slower metabolism, which makes it more difficult to eliminate fat.
Your body mass index (BMI) is the initial factor that determines whether you'll qualify for weight loss surgery. A BMI between 18 and 25 is desirable. A BMI over 25 suggests you're overweight, while 30-39 indicates you're obese. A BMI of 40+ suggests morbid obesity.
Why does my face look fat in pictures? Because the front camera is actually a wide-angle lens, and this focal length will produce great distortion around the picture. If your face is not in the center, it will be magnified by the lens distortion, and it will appear that your face has gained a few pounds.
Men tend to store more fat in their stomach and abdominal area, while women tend to store it in their lower body (hips, thighs, bum). This can affect where you first notice weight loss, as it can often begin to drop off in these specific areas [3].

New research shows that daughters, but not sons, appear to inherit a mother's body composition and body mass profile. If you or someone you know is pregnant or planning to become pregnant, talk with a healthcare provider about strategies to reduce excess body fat, and how to control excess weight gain during pregnancy.
Hourglass body shape
