It generates all three components of healthy and youthful skin: collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. It is fantastic for the lower face – not only does it lift sagging jowls and loosen skin on the neck, but it can also eliminate a double chin to delicately refine the jawline.
By adding volume to the cheek area and contouring the shape of your cheek, you can visibly lift your cheekbones and the lower face while filling out fine lines and wrinkles in the process. However, if a patient is experiencing excessive sagging and 'jowls', jawline filler will most likely be recommended too.
Dermal fillers can be used to restore mid-face (cheek) volume and sculpt the jawline, in order to reduce the appearance of sagging jowls. The procedure is not painful, does not require any significant down-time and is excellent at lifting and sculpting the skin, where volume needs to be replaced.
Fillers are a top treatment choice when it comes to fixing jowls as they revolumise the skin while helping to recontour sagging chins and jawlines.
What is the best filler for jowls and lower face sagging? Generally, for lower face rejuvenation we use JUVÉDERM Ultra®, JUVÉDERM VOLUMA®, and Restylane®. These are all hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, which means they are reversible and there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction.
Treating with 1ml at a time is certainly appropriate for some areas, such as volumising lips or having smaller tweakments into other areas of the face. Sometimes, however, more than 1ml may be required – in the cheeks, for example – as 1ml may not make a discernible difference.
Fillers. Fillers are most often the first step toward reducing nasolabial folds. Dermatologists and other aesthetic professionals inject fillers into the skin around the cheek. This adds volume to the area and lifts the skin.
To counteract the formation of jowls, fillers can be injected to lift both the cheeks and the skin around the jawline and mouth.
Dermal fillers can help offset this loss of facial volume in a non-invasive fashion that replenishes youthfulness and vitality. The filler will be injected into the hollows that occur midway between the lower lids and the cheeks, improving the appearance of the tear troughs as well as undereye bags.
Facial fillers are very effective at dealing with deep wrinkles such as marionette lines. They gently plump out the wrinkles, resulting in a smoother appearance. Dermal fillers can also be used to add volume to your cheeks, replacing the diminishing fat pads in that area.
Best Treatment for Jowls Sagging
However, the best laser for sagging neck and jowls is probably not a laser at all. The more effective treatment for this issue is through ultrasound waves. Ultrasound waves are able to penetrate deeper into the subcutaneous tissue.
Depending on the type that you choose, cheek fillers can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years before results are no longer noticeable. The dermal filler material eventually dissolves and metabolizes into your skin tissue.
So based on this fact, most patients will need 1 syringe of filler per decade of age to restore their once youthful and plump appearance. Again, those numbers would be 3 syringes for a 30 year old, 4 syringes for a 40 year old, 5 syringes for 50 year (you see where we are going with this) for a full facial correction.
Fortunately, dermal fillers work very quickly, and you won't have to wait twelve months to see the full benefits of your injections. That said, these injectable treatments take some time to integrate into your tissues, and it's normal for your dermal filler to take up to two weeks to fully settle into your face.
Juvederm Vollure XC is now the first and only hyaluronic acid dermal filler approved for the correction of moderate to severe wrinkles and folds and can last up to 18 months. This is the longest-lasting result shown in clinical studies in nasolabial folds.
When you lose collagen, your skin can become less firm and supple, thereby deepening these types of wrinkles. Another reason nasolabial folds become more prominent with age is because of the tendency of cheeks to flatten out. As this occurs, your skin droops downward, deepening the folds around your cheeks.
Dermal fillers are great for anyone looking to restore the smooth and youthful shape of their face. Although some last for two years, others need to be repeated every 4-6 months for best effects.
I am usually using a total of 1-2 ml. The mid cheek is the area of the cheek directly under the eyes. It's a common area of volume loss and a little volume here can make a huge difference to a face. We generally place a half to one ml per side in this area.
One syringe may be enough for a mild bilateral cheek correction. However, if deep hollows or marked flattening of the cheeks are present, additional syringes may be required. I recommend patients new to JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC start with a minimal treatm ent of one syringe.
They fill lines and wrinkles and add volume to areas such as your lips or cheeks. Fillers are not permanent. How long they last depends on things like the type of filler and where it's injected. They usually last between 6 and 18 months.
Golueke estimates 1 ml would cost around $450 in his Munich clinic, but the price will vary widely based on where you're getting it done. In the U.S., expect it to be around $700—and note this is not an appointment you want to cheap out on.
The filler can take several weeks to soften and settle into your skin. This means that patients won't see the ultimate results of their treatment immediately. Although individual results will vary, many people achieve the full effect within two weeks after receiving their injections.
"If the filler is not permanent, such as Restylane Silk or Juvederm, the lips will return to their original shape," says Dr. Howard Sobel, founder of DDF Skincare. "If the filler is permanent, such as Silicon 1000, they'll stay the same." Dr.
