Laying still is very important during the lash session. Eyelashes are very short hair and when we wiggle around it is hard to keep eyelashes isolated from other lashes. Talking is great during eyelash extension appointments. Do be aware though at how much you move your eyes while you talk.
Some do like to talk but talking can significantly increase the amount of time it takes to lash. I usually ask at the beginning of the appt if they'd like to listen to a podcast (usually true crime lol) and that really helps!
Lie back and sink into your luxury lash bed as your stylist gets to work. Rest your legs on a comfy bolster as your natural lashes get a lash bath. Your lash stylist will cleanse your eye area, then prep it for the lash service with cooling under-eye pads. Already feel yourself dozing off into a lash nap?
The aesthetician will methodically isolate one natural lash and place one extension at a time, rhythmically working until you have a full set. It is important that you do not open your eyes during treatment.
DON'T - answer your phone during your appointment.
Movements, especially sudden ones, or talking on the phone can make it dangerous for you and extremely hard for the lash artist to work on your lashes. For your safety, and the best quality work, refrain from using your phone at all during your appointment.
Yes, you can cry, but not until 24 to 48 hours after the application. After this time, you can cry as much as you'd like! The lashes become water-resistant after that period of time. After crying with tears in your eyes, rinse it off with an oil-free cleanser.
Yes! In fact, calm, fully closed, and steady eyes will ensure that the best attachment of the extensions to your natural lash is achieved. Pretty much every client has fallen asleep at one point, if not for the entire length of their appointment. We get it — these appointments can become very relaxing!
SHOWER BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT
Your lash artist attaches your extensions to your natural lashes with a special adhesive. If the adhesive gets wet, then your lash extensions may fall out prematurely. With that in mind, it's in your best interest to shower prior to your appointment.
Wear Mascara
Before your appointment, make sure you don't have any mascara on your lashes. Lash technicians need to apply the extensions onto clean and oil-free eyelashes, so make sure you remove all traces of mascara before arriving.
The short answer to this is yes, you can cry with your eyelash extensions on because they're waterproof. It's important to remember that waterproof does not mean tear-proof, so you should treat the extensions just like your natural lashes and don't pull the eyes too hard or rub them.
The average time for a full set of eyelash extensions is about 2-3 hours, depending on a few factors. Before your appointment, it's important to properly prepare, as it is key for a smooth and speedy appointment.
Heightened Sensitivity: Drinking coffee before lash extensions appointment can heighten our sensitivity levels, and that's not fun when someone's working around our eyes. If we're jittery or anxious from caffeine, everything can feel more intense, which isn't ideal at all.
Don't wear make-up
Au-natural is the vibe – arrive fresh-faced and let your lash artist do the work. If the thought of going bare-faced makes you uncomfortable, you may wear base make-up like foundation and bronzer, but the eye area needs to be completely clear of make-up, including mascara and strip-lashes.
Chemical burns from eyelash extensions typically occur due to the adhesives used during application. The application process involves attaching extensions to your natural lashes with glue. If the glue comes into direct contact with your skin or eyes, it may cause a chemical burn.
Dry eye syndrome, conjunctivitis, and other significant eye problems like Blepharitis, corneal disease, glaucoma, and styes can make our wonderful lash trip risky.
It's common for eyelash extensions to feel a little weird for the first couple of hours after getting them applied for the first time. A little eye irritation for a couple of hours is also common. However, any stinging, scratching, or pain is not normal.
First of all, we recommend not getting your fresh eyelash extensions wet for the first 24 hours (whether it be a fullest or a fill) because of something we call “polymer chains”; these are a strong occurring bond that when moisture (humidity that is in the air) is added to the glue it creates a chemical reaction and ...
The eyelash extension is bonded to the actual lash (not your eyelid) so it feels just like your normal lashes. The only way that lashes can become uncomfortable is if you repeatedly rub your eyes or are rough with your extensions – this can damage or twist the extensions, which could make them feel awkward on your eye.
