Is 2ml Of Dermal Lip Filler Too Much? Most lip filler injections have a volume between 0.5ml and 1ml. These provide more natural results and a slight increase in size post-treatment. Filler injections over 2ml are rarer, mainly because they create a more dramatic effect.
Most commonly, just 1 syringe is used for augmenting the lips, regardless of the type of filler you use. Occasionally, we will build up to 2 or even 3 syringes in the lips for a patient, but this is usually an older patient who has lost some of the definition and structure in the lips, as well as volume.
The amount of filler used during a procedure varies, depending on who you ask. Some doctors advocate using 10 to 15 syringes of filler per session, while others feel each patient is different.

Using Multiple Dermal Fillers at the Same Time
If you are looking to treat multiple different areas of your face during one dermal filler session, you can use Juvederm and other dermal fillers on different facial problem areas. Doing so is commonly referred to as getting a liquid facelift, and is a popular procedure.
Traditionally cosmetic practitioners would inject 1mL of dermal filler into one area of the face. For example, 1mL lip filler and 1mL cheek filler, however, only 1ml of filler can enhance your entire face.
HOW MANY SYRINGES OF JUVEDERM DO I NEED? Most nasolabial folds will typically require two syringes to fully correct. One syringe of Juvederm is sometimes sufficient for mild nasolabial folds. For lip augmentation, one syringe will sculpt and enhance the lips.
On average patients get 1 full syringe during their first appointment. If they want more after that, they can do so after their lips have healed. We have several patients get 1 syringe in their lips and come back a week or two later to get a second syringe.
You can get repeat treatments every six months. Scientists have found that hyaluronic acid injections prompt the skin to produce more collagen, creating more natural plumpness in the lips.

Two syringes of dermal filler will get clients noticeably smoother and plumper and for some clients a true volume change.
It's a common misconception that dermal filler is going to dramatically change your appearance with the very first treatment. In actual fact, 1ml of dermal filler is just enough to create a very subtle result that clients can then build upon over time (if that's your goal).
