You can carefully eat or drink shortly after your lip flip procedure. However, take care not to eat any messy foods that may cause you to wipe your face or lips for at least three days. Avoid using drinking straws or smoking for at least three days. Puckering or contracting your lips may cause the Botox to migrate.

The botox can migrate either at the time of injection or for a little while afterwards. The effect may only come on after days to 2 weeks later as the botox starts to work. The greater the volume injected the greater the risk of migration.
More importantly, rubbing or massaging can cause the injected BOTOX to migrate to other parts of the face. Avoid lying down or bending over for several hours after the treatment to help prevent facial swelling and migration of the toxin. If possible, avoid lying down until bedtime.
Botulinum toxin can spread to a distance of 30–45 mm from the injected muscles to the adjacent muscles, even if these muscles are separated by fasciae. Neck muscles are prone to diffusion of botulinum toxin, and paralysis of the wrong muscles leads to dysphonia, dysphagia or dystonia.

The results may be too subtle
The lip flip enhances the existing shape of your upper lip, letting the vermillion border roll outward very slightly. This result is subtle — especially when you are not smiling — and may be disappointing if you are hoping for a noticeable change in your lip shape or size.
During this time, the orbicularis oris muscle relaxes, which allows the upper lip to lift and “flip.” People should see the full results about a week after treatment. A lip flip lasts for about 2–3 months. It only lasts for a short duration because the upper lip muscle often moves, causing its effects to wear off.
Botox can sometimes spread from the area where the injections are given. This can cause a serious condition called botulism. Botulism can occur hours, days, or even weeks after receiving a Botox injection.

Yes, it can, but if it is injected properly these risks are minimal. To minimize risks further I recommend my patients avoid strenuous exercises and applying pressure to the region for at least 1-2 days following the procedure.
If the injection is done too fast or too deep, excessive swelling and bruising can occur. Bruising is especially common if the injector hits a vein or pushes to hard. While this is a temporary side effect, the patient will be forced to live with an unsightly bruise for days if not weeks.
