Important Rules During Healing and Aftercare:
Blot with a tissue, don't rub during healing. Drink through a straw until the peeling is complete. To avoid infection, do not kiss until the scabs have completely come off. No conventional lipstick be worn during the healing process nor any petroleum products.
We do NOT offer PMU services to individuals with any of the following conditions: Pregnant/breast feeding - NO EXCEPTIONS. Use Accutane (acne medication) - must discontinue for 1 year before getting any permanent make-up procedures. Hemophilia - Bleeding Disorder.
Lip Blushing: Lips are known to be more sensitive than brows, so you might assume that lip blushing would be quite painful. However, as with brow treatments, a numbing agent is applied beforehand to minimize discomfort. Clients often report a buzzing or vibrating sensation more than pain.
The ghosting stage of lip blush tattoo healing usually happens around 1-2 weeks after the procedure. During this time the lips may look faded or even “colorless” and it may seem like the lip colour has disappeared. This is totally normal and temporary.
You may ice the lips if it is feeling tender after the procedure. Wrap an ice pack or a ziplock bag of ice in a napkin and place it on the area for 30-second increments. Apply ointment (A+D ointment/Aquaphor) on your lips several times a day. This should be done for at least 14 days post-treatment.
It's best to give your lips ample time to heal before engaging in any activities that may put them at risk. No oral activities: Refrain from engaging in any activities that involve your mouth, such as oral sex, during the initial healing period (around 3-5 days).
