Over time, the Botox components are broken down into harmless particles called amino acids. The broken-down components are excreted from the kidneys as waste, or they're used in other proteins. As such, Botox either leaves your system completely or gets recycled in a harmless form.
“Botox [sticks] around in your face for six to eight months and then is directly metabolized by the body at the site of injection,” he says. “It's processed by the liver and kidney and then eventually secreted.” Fillers leave the body in the same way, he says.
For those who do use it, the effects are temporary, so even if the toxin does travel between cells, it won't remain in the body forever. “To make it less scary, all toxins have a limited life,” said Chapman. “For most patients, regardless of how Botox is used, it will eventually be destroyed by the body.”
When people see lines forming after BOTOX wears off, they assume treatment made their wrinkles worse. Actually, your face simply returns back to its natural state. No new wrinkles or lines are ever caused by these injections.
When some people see their wrinkles form again after the rejuvenating effects of Botox wear off, they assume that the treatment made their wrinkles worse. This isn't true at all. In fact, regular Botox use can actually retrain certain muscles to move less, leading to smoother skin with less Botox over time.
Nausea. Redness. Temporary facial weakness or drooping. In rare instances, the botulinum toxin may spread beyond the treatment area, causing botulism-like signs and symptoms such as breathing problems, trouble swallowing, muscle weakness and slurred speech.
Botox acts by paralyzing the muscles in a given area, causing wrinkles to smooth. Once the effects of the Botox wear off, the patient will appear the same as they did prior to the treatment. Prolonged treatments will not cause sagging of the skin.
"If you do too much Botox on your forehead for many, many years, the muscles will get weaker and flatter," cautions Wexler, adding that the skin can also appear thinner and looser. Moreover, as your muscles become weaker, they can start to recruit surrounding muscles when you make facial expressions.
Why Does Botox Make Your Forehead Shiny? Light naturally reflects off of smooth surfaces, so the smoother your skin, the more light will bounce. Botox injections smooth the skin, which can cause it to appear shinier, especially if it is overdone.
"After receiving Botox, a patient may unconsciously attempt to re-create the facial expressions in the area where treatment has paralyzed their facial muscles, "said Dr. Becker. "What can happen is that other, nearby muscles compensate--this can have the effect of actually creating new wrinkles."

Answer: Botox safety
You bring up a valid question, but the answer is no. Used in the correct manner, Botox should not be harmful to your liver and kidneys.
Botox for aesthetic purposes is a pure protein, meaning there is no bacteria and it cannot replicate, like the live protein mentioned above. Further, Botox is injected into the skin, not the bloodstream and is slowly metabolized by the body.
If you stop BOTOX treatments after many years of regular injections, the only effect will be that your wrinkles will return, albeit a bit more slowly than if you had not been using BOTOX. It's true: Even after you stop, you will still look younger than you would have if you had never been injected.
Is Botox safe? Although botulinum toxin is life threatening, small doses — like those used in the application of Botox — are considered safe. In fact, only 36 cases of adverse effects associated with cosmetic use were reported to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) between 1989 and 2003.
When Botox is applied to problem areas around the eyebrows, the muscles relax and the skin on top of them becomes smoother. The muscles around the eyebrows are pulled upwards, elevating the eyebrows and making a patient's eyes appear more open.

Patients must be 18 years or older to be able to get Botox. However, most experts agree that in most cases, patients at a good age for preventative Botox treatment are those in their mid-late 20s and early 30s who are prone to wrinkles.
In general, the effects of Botox usually lasts four to six months after treatment. Botox also has medical uses, such as treating migraines or reducing neck spams. When used for medical purposes, it tends to work for a shorter period of time, usually lasting two to three months.
The most common negative reaction to injections to your face is a droopy eyelid, also called ptosis or blepharoptosis. Most people don't have this problem. Around 5% of people who get Botox will have problems with eyelid droop. This number falls to less than 1% if a skilled doctor does the injection.
Botox once a year will slow the progress of wrinkles, but not halt it. You need to retreat the area every three to four months to keep the muscles from reinforcing the wrinkles. It's not a waste to do it infrequently.
In general, most people should have Botox injections once every four months is usually an ideal frequency for this treatment. But because everybody has a different body, you may need your injections more or less frequently.
