Because of this, individuals in the following categories are not good candidates for body waxing: Those taking blood thinners or corticosteroids. Those who have psoriasis, eczema or rosacea. Those with autoimmune diseases, like lupus.

Steroids/Antibiotics
You must be off this medication for 3 months prior to waxing. Certain steroids and antibiotics cause the skin to become hypersensitive and can cause painful reactions to waxing.
Paraffin wax bath therapy is safe, although you should take care with home kits not to heat the wax too much. You shouldn't use wax bath therapy if you have cuts, open sores or inflammatory skin conditions.

Clients who should avoid waxing include those taking oral steroids due to compromised skin and increased sensitivity. Additionally, individuals with specific allergies should also avoid waxing to prevent allergic reactions.
What is a waxing contraindication? In simple terms it's something that might restrict or prevent you from going ahead with a waxing treatment on a client. It can include anything from a skin disorder, infection or allergy to inflammation, tenderness and even pregnancy.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to perform a Full Monty Wax/Brazilian on you if you are 5 months pregnant or more and have not ever received a Brazilian Wax, or have not been waxed for over a year. It is much too much for skin that is already sensitive and engorged.
Waxing after tanning can remove the top layers of your skin, leading to redness and possible scarring. If you have recently tanned, wait until your skin has returned to its normal colour before getting waxed.
The following medications may also cause increased skin sensitivity and could result in an adverse reaction to waxing: Antihistamines, Cortisone, blood pressure medication, blood thinning medication, and thyroid medication.
