Avoid certain products
In the week prior to the Botox® treatment, avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatories (such as Advil or Aleve), ginkgo biloba, vitamin E, or fish oil supplements. Compounds in these oral supplements and medications may increase bruising and bleeding.
Zinc is known as a “Botox booster” based on a few studies. Zinc has been found to be effective in extending the effects of botulinum toxin injections up to 30 percent.
Zinc for higher Botox efficiency
A study conducted in 2012 shows that Botox duration increases by 30% in Botox patients who took 50mg of zinc daily. This might be due to the fact that the botulinum toxin is a member of a class of enzymes that requires zinc.
- Avoid the use of Aspirin, NSAIDS, Ginko Biloba, Garlic Supplements, Green Tea, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamins A and E, and essential fatty acids for up to 1 week pre and post injection as they will increase your risk of bruising.

Answer: Use of retinol and vitamin C post injections
Gently putting on your skin products after 4 hours post botox or juvaderm is safe. Both retinol and vitamin C will not interfere with either products.

Drink Coffee
You should also avoid coffee before Botox. This is because coffee contains caffeine, which may trigger your blood pressure and increase the likelihood of bruising during the procedure. For this reason, you should avoid coffee and other beverages containing caffeine at least 24 hours before the treatment.
The body begins to form antibodies against the product. Eventually the antibodies will block Botox® from working, and the facial muscles will recover very rapidly. At that point, there is little point in getting further injections of Botox®. This resistance process typically takes months or years to complete.

Will Exercising Long Term Effect Botox? While exercising immediately after having Botox treatments is not recommended, many people think that exercising frequently while you have Botox will cause it to wear off. This couldn't be further from the truth! There is no correlation between exercise and Botox longevity.
Interactions between your drugs

For a minimum of 3 days post-treatment, avoid using anything perceived as 'active' skincare. This includes products which contain Retinol, Vitamin C, Hydroxy Acids or Beta Hydroxy Acid.
As with strenuous exercise, increased heart rate and blood flow can cause the Botox to break down more quickly before the skin tightening effects have time to take place. Foods containing garlic and supplements like vitamin e have also been shown to increase the risk of bruising.
Avoid key medications and supplements
Prior to and just after receiving your cosmetic injections, avoid medications and supplements that thin your blood. This includes ibuprofen, St. John's wort, flaxseed oils, fish oils, vitamin E, and Omega-3 supplements.
Muscles naturally weaken over time and if Botox keeps those muscles too relaxed, other areas in your face will work in overdrive. The result? You age faster. "The other side effects of Botox could include asymmetry of muscles," said Dr.
Common supplements to avoid before treatment include vitamin E, St. John's Wort, garlic, turmeric, chia seeds, Ginkgo biloba, and flaxseed oil (and other oils high in omega-3 fatty acids). It's best to talk to your doctor before stopping any regular medications.
Why Does It Take Botox Time To Work? Botox takes time to work because it must reach the cellular level of the muscle in order to block the neurotransmitters in the nerve, eventually causing the paralyzation of the muscle.
The short answer to how long you should wait between Botox treatments is anywhere from three to four months for the best results. We recommend scheduling around this time frame, which is when most people begin to notice that their results begin to dissipate.
Typically, the effects of Botox last for up to three to four months. Therefore, the recommended treatment is once every three to four months. Nonetheless, if your facial muscles begin to train themselves to contract less, the period of time for each treatment may be extended longer than three or four months.
